Post-op day 6 and I'm feeling so much better....

Post-op day 6 and I'm feeling so much better. Asked to go into the office so the nurse could check my bandaging and compression. They took me immediately without questions. My follow-up was yesterday with the nurse and she was reassured me that I was on-track and healing well. It's hard to envision everything through the swelling and of course, we want to see immediate results but the fact is, it does take time. What I see at this point in time, I am very happy with. One drain was removed and the other will be removed possibly on Thursday! I'm planning to post pics soon ...

It's Saturday 5/19 and my TT took place on 5/16. I still find it hard to believe that I did it, so definitely feels very surreal at this moment! Although my follow up with my PS is not until Monday, I had asked to go in the day after surgery to have my binder adjusted. The nurse was so accommodating and reassuring as she adjusted my binder and replaced gauze for me. In addition, she was able to take a couple of pics which I will ask for so I could post here. As expected at this point, I was still very swollen. The good thing was my drains were working properly and my binder felt much better all snug and evenly aligned around my body. Flash back to day of surgery, it was just that ... a flash! One minute I'm in pre-op and my PS is drawing on me, then the next minute, I wake up with nurses around ready to check vitals, etc. There were about 3 or 4 of them attending to my needs and going over the steps of using the drains and taking the medication. At home, I'm trying to stay on track with cleaning my drains and logging the amount of fluids every few hours. Of course, taking my meds seems pretty non-stop so it helps to set your alarm or write down the time of your next dose. As far as pain, it has been tolerable. It feels very much like after my c-section, except my muscles feel much more tighter. Combined with the binder, it's important to remind yourself to breath as it could become/feel constrained. I haven't had much of an appetite since the surgery, only drinking protein shakes, eating oranges and crackers and drinking lots of tea and water. My parents brought me chinese food but does not seem very appetizing at this point. Plus, I haven't had a bm, which I'm scared to do at this point so I'm trying not to make things worse! I'll follow up with an update again soon. Good luck to all on your TT journey!

TT surgery tomorrow and feeling really nervous and excited! My daughter has been so caring and supportive for being only 17. I'm so proud of her. She even wants to drive me to my surgery and walk me in. Love her so much. I've been wanting this procedure for over two years and I can't believe the big day is tomorrow. My PS is so kind and patient, very professional and calm. He has a good team of people working with him too. Praying that God helps me through a smooth operation tomorrow and speedy recovery ... :)

Dr. Williams is very calm, patient, kind, and professional. I knew I chose the right PS, when he told me that my safety was first priority, so I felt safe in his hands, literally. He and his staff were very responsive to my many questions. They clearly understand how nervous how was so made every effort to reassure me that I will be okay and my feelings are normal. I'm only one week post op and so far love my results. I have worked for a Plastic Surgeon before and I consider Dr. Williams to be one of the Best in his profession.
