My recovery was anything but pleasant....
I have double lids but as I get older the skin started to sag. It made me look sleepy especially the right eye. So I start researching for surgeons. I went to a few consultations but was never felt comfortable with them. Then I found Dr Lay on realself. I love his before and after. Natural and subtle. I messaged him through IG. He responded quickly. We FaceTime a few days after. I scheduled for surgery a few months after.
he spent a lot of time with me prior to surgery studying my eyes. I didn't feel rushed. Surgery wasn't long. I was awake the whole time. A few hours post op it started to hurt. Tylenol took care of it.
Post op day 1: my eyes were so swollen. Had tears running constantly. My nose was running. My eyes burns like ????. Texted him and went back to his office. Gave me high dose of steroids x1. It helped a bit.
Post op day 6: still super swollen, my right eye was bruised (yellow/purple). I look crazy.
Post op day 7: sutures came out. I cried when he clipped the inner corner sutures. It hurts like a [RS bleep] but it's fine. I got over it.
Post op day 14-20: still very swollen but bruise fading. My eyes started to have purulent discharge, burning (I was moving -dust?). Called Dr Lay late that night and he called in a prescription for me. He called/text to check up on me. So sweet ??
Post op day 27: STILL swollen but it starting to look better.
2 months post op: finally look even and natural.
Now 4 months post op: everyone is jealous! J/k. Everyone that look at me wants to Dr Lay to do their eyes.
Throughout this entire journey Dr Lay was (and still) super responsive and supportive. He's the sweetest, cutest, most adorable surgeons I've meet (and I work with a lot of surgeons). I texted him so many time whining about my eyes. He was never impatient with me. Always telling me to give it more time.
I have allergies and I'm have highly sensitive skin. I didn't expect to have to go through what I went through. I honestly thought I can come back to work 2 weeks post op looking normal.
However I would do it all over again. I love my eyes. Dr Lay is the ????!
