Update- two months and change since bleph

WORTH IT$2,300
Very happy. He is not a "hand-holder"- treated me like the professional I am and respected my desire to muscle through the procedure as an in-office procedure (saved a thousand bucks by not having anesthesiologist and surgery center fees). When I decide that I want more "work" done, I will be back!
Update- two months and a week post surgery
He did an excellent job medically. I have no scars and look totally natural. However, I have downgraded my "aftercare and follow-up" rating to a one star. There has been absolutely no communication from Dr Ransom or Dee his receptionist, since my sutures were removed. Granted, there has been no medical need. However, he did tell me that his receptionist would be calling to set up a check-in appt. to make sure that I was healing well. She has not called. On the day after my surgery, I would have appreciated a call from his office to check in as to how I was feeling, and if I had any questions or concerns. There was no such call. In San Francisco, excellent doctors are a dime a dozen. It's the little things that can add up and push a patient one way or the other.Making a couple of phone calls, one, the day after surgery, and one maybe a month later to see how I am doing would be such an easy thing to do, and the pay-off is huge for the doctor. As is, I am seriously considering another procedure, a much bigger one this time, but I won't be going back to Dr. Ransom. I'm going to need a little more support and warmth. I'm going to Dr David Khan for this one! http://www.sf-plastic-surgery.com/ After my initial consult with Dr K and his colleague Dr. Mo, I know that I am going to receive not just excellent medical attention, but the warmth and support that will make my recovery a comfortable experience.

It is surprising that there hasn't been any follow up contact by PS or office. As you said you received a beautiful procedure but are moving on. A kind word, a 10 minute phone call can mean a lot, but as you said there are a lot of PS out there. I've even received notes in the mail from PT coordinators saying how nice it was to see me - for me, that means a lot. Just two weeks and off I go to SX. Nervous but thrilling at the same time.
Right?!
If they don't have time for me then I don't have time for them LOL
As a veteran of several plastic surgery procedures, I too have noticed most surgeons are no longer excited to see you, once they're "done" with you! As well as feeding their wallets, we are feeding their addiction to performing surgery! After your surgery, you're "old news" as they move on to woo new patients. "Warm and fuzzy" gets thrown out like yesterday's garbage.
After seeing all the botched surgeries on RealSelf, I personally wouldn't go shopping for another plastic surgeon. I see these reviews where the doc is generally considered excellent and you see real results, and gasp at the disconnect. I would take proven skill over hand holding any day.
I would take skill over hand holding ANY day as well! The last thing I needed or wanted was to have my hand held. A quick, simple, "How are you doing" "Do you have any questions or concerns that I can help with " is all that would have changed my attitude completely. The smart doc is the one who can both prove his prowess in the surgery center, and delegate a follow-up call to a caring staff member. I found another surgeon, vetted him VERY carefully, and will now be going to him forever after a very successful Thermi-tight procedure. He will get my loyalty and my business (i.e. money) Dr. Ransome, skilled as he is, won't.
I agree with the other commenter. I would stick with this guy in the future. Maybe send them a link to this post so they can have the opportunity to create a little warm and fuzzy in the future. Still, a good doc is a good doc. Keep him! In fact, I want to see him now and he is welcome to be a complete jerk afterwards if he does as good of a job as he did for you. You look great!
Interesting. I had a consult with Dr. Ransom and had the exact same impression of him and his office -- that I was inconveniencing him with my questions; his receptionist had no warmth whatsoever and was standoffish, and that I literally tossed $100 to the wind for 10 minutes of their time.

Upper Eyelid Lift-MAJOR Success - San Francisco, CA w/a before pic

Here is a pic of my eyes before (as requested)! The question was asked why I had bruising under my eyes when I had the upper eyelids, not lowers done. I don't really know? Maybe because trauma pools underneath the eyes? Also I had local anesthesia for the procedure- the numbing injections HURT (just like at the dentist) but the procedure itself was painless.

Gravity pulls bruising down, like you said. Great result, you look fresh and happy! Congrats!
Thank you!
Thanks for the update!!!
You are so welcome- I hope my experience helps others!
ORIGINAL POST

I noticed that my upper eyelids had become...

I noticed that my upper eyelids had become "hooded" over the last year or so. My eyes naturally go down at the sides but recently it looked as though I were tired all the time. I am one month post surgery-NO scarring, NO change in my appearance other than I look better rested AND I can see a bit better! JUST what I wanted.
