WORTH IT$400
I was on a tight budget, so I only had a minimal amount of Botox injected. 20 units between my eyes and 10 around each side. My frown lines have softened, and my crow's feet have been eliminated! I think my brow may have even been lifted slightly as a nice unexpected result! I am VERY pleased with the results I received, though I wish I'd had the funding to have a little more injected. I am already saving money for my next treatment session!

Thanks for starting a review on RealSelf.  I know what you mean about putting off Botox because of the cost!  Allergan (maker of Botox) has a program called Brilliant Distinctions that allows you to accumulate and cash in points, but from what I've heard it is hard to accumulate enough points in the timeframe they give you.  But I could be wrong, so it might be worth checking out.

Let us know how long the Botox lasts for you!

I actually joined Brilliant Distinctions which earns you 10 points (equalling dollars) for each 100 dollars spent. Since this was my first go around with Botox, I can already see that it's time for a refresher. It's been three months, which is the low end of the overall average life expectancy. I've recently applied for a med specific line of credit in hope of funding some further procedures. Hopefully pretty soon you'll be reading my review on dermal fillers!

Oh that isn't so bad, especially since you are guaranteed to spend at least $100 per visit (more like $200+ based on the reviews).  What dermal fillers are you considering?

I believe I spent $400 in total for the Botox, and that was utilizing a pretty significant Groupon discount for half, so I only earned "points" for the $200 out of pocket beyond the Groupon. Anyway, I'm still at the research level as far as dermal fillers are concerned. I know that Juvederm yields more immediate results, yet they aren't as long lasting as some of the collagen stimulating options, so I'm still weighing the pro's and con's. Money remains the biggest issue at hand. None of these procedures are "cheap", and I am on such a tight budget that I am waiting for another Groupon or special offer to come along so I can get started!

Well if I can offer one piece of advice- go with a temporary filler like Juvederm or Restylane first in case you don't like the results (both of these can also be dissolved if they need to be).  Then if you like the results go for a more permanent filler the next time.  Also the quality of your injector makes a huge difference, so you may want to consider spending the money to see someone who is great at injecting even if they don't offer a groupon (almost every medi-spa or surgeon's office will offer deals now and then).  Okay that was two pieces of advice!  Whatever you do, be sure to let us know :)

Thanks @Jill81. I appreciate your advice. Yes, I have been leaning more towards the temporary fillers for now. I wish that I had the budget to be able to afford these services without having to wait for discounts! A divorce ruined my credit, so CareCredit isn't even an option I can consider. I don't know that I mentioned this previously, but I recently lost a significant amount of weight, which resulted in my feeling fantastic about my body, but took all the fullness from my face, which really effected my self esteem because I look so much older in the face than I feel in the body! I am just thrilled to know that there are minimally invasive procedures available these days to treat my concerns, and now it's just a matter of funding so that I can have the face that matches my physique. I am soon to be 46, and look more like I'm 38, but I REALLY want to look 33. ;)

Girl, tell me about it (currently saving for Botox).  I totally understand where you are coming from as far as wanting your face to look as refreshed as your body, and congrats on the weight loss!  Take your time while you are saving up and find a skilled injector that you like.  Call their office and ask if they ever do specials or promotions.  Good luck!  Let us know what you end up doing :)

I really love this forum, because after reading up on so many of the different treatments that are available, looking at before and after photos and reading the advice from plastic surgeons, I think I have figured out what I need to have done, which is a cheek augmentation instead of "filling" my nasio labal folds! If I pull the skin on my cheek a bit taught, it completely erases the folds. So my next step is getting in to see an injector for a consultation! I'm super excited!

Very exciting- glad you've found the site helpful!

Your results sound fantastic, thanks for sharing :) I am also a big botox fan. I'm thinking of getting it for the crows feet area next time as a preventative treatment.

Preventative? I wasn't aware of using it as a preventative! I already had crow's feet, and it sure did eliminate them. Now that they're returning, I can't wait to go back and have them retreated.

Botox, round 3....here we go again!

I missed reviewing a treatment I had in 2015, but I was so disappointed with the results, that I just wasn't inspired to write anything! Today I had another go at Botox. I'm going to be turning 48 in a few months, and things have changed some since my first review/use of Botox back in 2014. For one, I've decided that I LIKE my crow's feet! I think they give my eyes character. And though they're indicative of my age, they're not the lines in my face that I take issue with, so I'm letting them be for now. What I DO have a problem with are the "scowl" lines in the shape of a wicked #11 between my eyebrows. Today I had 20 units injected there, and I hope they disappear like they did back in '14!!! My eyelids are beginning to droop a bit, and I recently noticed that my right brow is a little lower than my left, so my injector placed another 10 units strategically in the furrows across my forehead when I lift my brows, intentionally avoiding the area right OVER my brows, which she said should give me some lift & even me out, while still allowing me to raise my eyebrows. The 6 or 7 injections across my forehead hurt more than the 4 or 5 between my eyes, and left a couple of little bruises, but the procedure was still entirely manageable pain-wise. Now comes the hardest part in my opinion....THE ONE WEEK WAIT for results!! My vanity makes me reluctant to post "before" pix...but I'll do it anyway! Hopefully in a week's time you'll see a VAST improvement!!
