Right side pic

Didn't post the right side pic from today (2 1/2 weeks) so here it is

No more drains!

Good news! Yesterday I was able to get the drains out. I feel so much better. The drains hurt my sides, made it harder to do my 'massage' and, I didn't even realize this would happen but as soon as they came out my breasts looked better - less round on top with more of a slope already. I can also quit taking the antibiotics, which I try not to take unless I really have to.

Today I was finally allowed to take a full shower - such a nice luxury I normally take for granted. I had to wait one day for the holes from the drains to close up. I didn't scrub or soap up the area too much, so there is still a little marker left from where the tape was covering it while the drains were in. I didn't want to irritate anything and figure it will come off soon enough on its own.

I don't feel that sore anymore, but it still feels funny to lift my left arm high over my head. The left breast feels a little less soft than the right one. Maybe because I'm right handed that side is progressing faster? Or it could be because the drain on the left was right up against my nerves and muscles and caused irritation. I also find that I can sleep on my right side but not my left. I still wear the surgical bra to bed - I tried sleeping in just a shirt but it felt weird so I got up and put the bra back on.

Anyway, I feel HAPPIER now that the drains are out. I'm wearing a normal, tight fitting t-shirt today and it really feels nice :) I'll post some pics of my progress. I can still fit into the one bralette I've tried on so far - looks great. Yay!

I can relate to all the stories about how emotional and stressful the surgery and recovery are. Being cooped up in the house, being worried about the results, not sleeping very well - it's exhausting. Plus, doing something that is supposed to make me feel sexier and good but at first being stuck with drainage tubes and not able to shower - well, it certainly tested my patience. I just want everything to work out well. My Dr. is awesome, she gave me her cell # and I can text her anytime. That definitely helps. I'm trying to take it easy still. Reading the other reviews on here helps me get through it. I'm remembering to be thankful that I'm just doing elective surgery and that I am healthy.

Adding post pictures

I still have marker underneath since there is tape there holding in the drains. I can't shower the area until after the drains come out.

You can see I have piercings. I had to take out the metal ones for surgery so I bought 'bioplast' retainers. They are clear-ish plastic.

Overall my breasts feel tight and the skin feels stretched. I wear the surgical bra almost all the time except for doing massages and to let them out to rest a bit. The pressure of the bra band on the tube inside my skin is awful. My stitches feel fine. I got one blister from surgery on the top right breast. That is what the bandage there is for.

Right now I'm just waiting for the drains to come out. Hoping and hoping they come out soon. Other than that I feel great so I think that once the drains come out I'll be quite happy. Then of course just waiting for the D&F. I have overs so the drop won't be as substantial or take as long.
