9 mths after surgery.. Time sure flies!

My nose has healed almost completely with no scars. The thing is, there is a slight dip towards d tip of my nose. Dr Kim offered a correction surgery but I declined as d thought of going into d operating rm again.. Sigh.. I'll pass. Hence, my conclusion is for myself, $14k for a v slight change in my nose, not worth it.

Asian Rhinoplasty - Finally Did it! Take 2

After going to numerous doctors, I have finally decided and did the procedure on the 31st July. Although it was discussed that my Dr might harvest ear or rib cartilage, I was v glad when I woke up, that he took neither, hence, one less place to worry to heal. The only thing that did worry me was after going through all this, will he be able to achieve d results i want without harvesting neither d ear or rib cartilage? What he did use was my nose septum to get d tip projection I wanted and so far, today is Day 5, and it still hurts a little. I am keeping my fingers crossed and see how my nose looks tomorrow.

Dr Kim gave me Acetaminophen for pain, antibiotics, Ondansetron for Nausea and on top of that, I take Sinecch to help in the swelling. Let me recap the days....

Day 1 : Checked in at 630am at SFSC. The nurses there were great and the facility looked clean. By 7am, I was prepped and ready to go. The anesthesiologist and Dr Kim came by to speak to me prior. The only concern I had was Dr Kim saying he thought of another way in which I can get the tip projection I wanted. I was like..."Now??? Just before surgery??" Anyways, I was already prepped to go so I decided to just trust him in this. After that, I remember hopping onto the operating theatre and going to sleep. The next thing when I woke up, my nose was bandaged up and the nurse was checking if I'm ok. I think Dr Kim came by briefly when i woke up n said everything went well n left or was I dreaming?? Not really sure cos I was not really clear headed then.
The nurse then helped wheeled me to the car and we drove home. Surgery time - 730am - 1155am (approx) Left the centre at about 1pm. Felt tired and groggy the entire time so took the meds as prescribed and slept most of the time.

Day 2 - Sleeping last night was "tiring". Felt the pain on my nose and was groggy most of the time. Drank lots of water so kept waking up in the night to go use the bathroom. Not much appetite to eat. Had water and milo with flat crackers. Decided to try some Pho and it did taste really good. Cleaned my wound with hydrogen peroxide and bacitracin. So far, just feels like I have the flu and my nose is all stuffed up. Noticed Dr Kim left me a voicemail to check if all's gd. I feel ok in general, just the sight of it is quite overwhelming (the blood, the stitches..etc). Kept thinking to myself, I'm crazy to have done this! My husband just smiles when I say that. Took meds and cleaned as per instructed. Slept on 4 pillows (literally sitting to sleep)

Day 3 - Woke up with my right face slightly swollen!! Geez!! I think it was the Pho (which I did feel was a little too salty yesterday) Called the Dr's office and Maria suggested I take Benadryl which I did. The swelling went down and it was all good. She did mention that if the swelling does not subside, she will contact Dr Kim. Took meds and cleaned as per instructed. Decided I needed to wash my hair today and my husband helped me with it. He's a sweetheart! I felt so good after and we managed to keep my face entirely dry during the process!

Day 4 - Getting used to having the stuffy nose. Besides that, do not feel any other discomfort. My nose sometimes starts to run a little but since blowing my nose was a "no-no" I just gently dabbed it. Took meds and cleaned as per instructed.

Day 5 - Couldn't sleep much last night. I'm getting very conscious of my stuffy nose. On top of that, I get this "tugging" feeling on my nose which makes it hurt a little, plus it itches as well! Can't wait for my appt tomorrow but hv no clue how the removing of stitches will go n how my nose will look like under these bandages. It still feels a little sore when I clean. Finished the Sinecch course so now I m taking Bromelain with Quercetin for any swelling.

When it comes to food, I do not hv any problems eating except it has to be small bite full else it hurts a little when I open my mouth wide. Also, somehow I hv an ulcer under my lip which makes it a pain as well.

My follow up check up is on the 6th August. The nurse did remind me to clean the stitches well so that it'll be easier to remove them. Let's hope I'm doing it right. I will load before photos once I am up to it. The meds I take do make me a little tired and groggy after.

I don't like to talk much so his style kinda suits me. Understand what I want, tell me honestly whether it can be achieved or not, and do it. His office staff is good too.
