Alas - I am 30! And a few months after the magic birthday, I started to become aware of/self conscious of a lack of volume in my cheeks. I like to rock a very "natural" look, with minimal makeup & I have a great fear of looking "overdone" or of people even being able to recognize that I had work done. So, I was on the hunt for a conservative facial plastic surgeon.

After a couple days of searching, I came across Dr. Mabrie (via RealSelf). I loved the before and after photos I saw on this site, so I did a deep dive into his reviews and his website (which is very well done and thorough, including videos, before and after photos, detailed synopsis of patient procedures / experiences, etc.) and was definitely interested in meeting with Dr. Mabrie for a consultation.

The consultation was pricey ($165) - I even asked if they would be willing to waive it, but they were firm. That annoyed me slightly (if you ask, generally places will waive the consultation fee) UNTIL I arrived at Dr. Mabrie's office.

My wait time was non-existent, as he greeted me warmly at 1pm sharp. He brought me into his office (where there was some music on in the background, creating a really chill environment - removing the "sterile" office feel. I immediately felt at ease. It is clear that Dr. Mabrie is very connected to his patients and their experience in his office. Also, you can see the wheels turning as soon as he looks at you - thinking of how he can make you the most attractive version of yourself.

I told him problem areas I had concerns about, but also asked to hear his thoughts on how to make my face more beautiful. He made a few recommendations - never focusing in on only one area (I have had botox & restalyn before from various doctors in the Bay Area, and the doctors tend to focus only on one area (the eyes, the forehead, the mouth, etc)), but Dr. Mabrie was always bringing his recommendations back to how this or that would create a more beautiful face overall.

We decided to do two syringes of Juvederm Voluma into my cheeks, and I LOVE the results! Voluma is pricey (two syringes were $2500) but it lasts up to two years, and there is no swelling. Also, no one has noticed a thing, except to say that I look great :) ! The results are super natural and work beautifully with my face. I will not only be returning to Dr. Mabrie, but I dont think I could ever trust my face to anyone else again!
