I started with hyperhidrosis at about 18 and it turned on like a light switch. It was at its worst up until about I turned 30 and then slowly started to subside since then. Now, I would describe myself as just always being damp and never dry, but not soaking shirts any longer. I would say by noon, I start smelling like a gym locker and when I get home from work the first thing I do is take a shower. That's been my cycle for years. And, like everyone else, i've tried every product, every type of drysol, the ion product, botox, doctors, etc. Nothing works. Anyway, I just accepted it until I found out about this procedure a few months ago. I can't believe it's not advertised nor have derms ever mentioned it. There are 2 doctors in my area offering it, so I took the plunge thinking this would be the last attempt at living a normal life.
I had it done yesterday afternoon. I'm still in the middle of icing, so I don't have results to report, but will update next week. So far so good. Like everyone else said, forget the ice packs. Buy a case of the 8oz water bottles and just throw a bunch of them in the freezer. They are perfect ice packs for your underarms, believe me. I'm typing right now with them in, no problem :)
So, the doc I went to likes to first put in the lidocaine separately first and then put in the saline (a ton of it by the way) to separate the skin and push it up to make the procedure more effective secondly as opposed to what some do which is mix everything and then just pump it all in at once. Just a few bee stings with the lidocaine, no big deal. Now numb, you don't feel the saline going in. Now, I was really numb and had softballs full of saline that you can definitely feel.
The miradry began. I didn't feel a thing except for, I think, 2 times where I felt a little heat. Pain for the entire procedure was a 2 to 3 out of 10 for the whole thing, so don't worry about pain at all.
It did take almost 2 hours. The numbing and saline procedure did take a while. The miradry went slowly. This doctor doesn't do the 2 procedures any longer. It always a full setting of 5 and just one procedure. She said because of the saline technique, which is new, she is able to do the full 5 one-and-done and rarely has anyone come back for a second procedure.
I went home with some prednisone for swelling control and itching control, am taking ibuprofen and icing about 30 mins on, 30 mins off yesterday, today and probably tomorrow and then that should be it. I do have a lot of swelling right now, but that is mostly the saline solution at this point.
Yesterday, I had zero pain because I was numb for the rest of the day. Also, the numbness was down each arm to my elbows on the insides of my arm. I assume it was because of so much lidocaine. As of this morning, the numbness is all gone. I was bracing to wake up with burning pain, but happy to report, I have almost zero pain. So, today will be a lot of icing and watching tv, etc.
Well, that's it for now, really hoping for a new life after this procedure, so totally psyched about the whole thing right now. I'll update shortly after this icing is done and let you all know how it goes. If this works, for the price, it's such a no brainer.

Outstanding clinic. Terrific doctor. Very knowledgeable with miradry. Love her one-and-done attitude.
