WORTH IT
This treatment worked well for me after I developed edema post belotero. I read enough reviews beforehand to know that we are all different, but I still wanted to share something positive to reassure people who must be feeling as I was a couple of days ago. I did have a small bruise that is already calming down and my skin is still a little crepey. However, the skin looks better each time I check the mirror. I was really nervous, but I knew I couldn't live with the bags. I went to the same injector who did the treatment and was not charged a dime. He did do the injection in the recommended manner, but I accumulated fluid. I could see the fluid exit through my tear duct when I rolled my thumb gently over the bag toward the inner corner of my eye. My heart goes out to everyone out there who is dealing with this. It's so hard to age in our culture. God knows there is a part of us all that is forever young, we just can't see it on the outside. I'm done messing with nature, minus my apothecary of skin care products, naturally. Hugs to all.

I experienced nearly the exact same thing just about three weeks ago. Boletero under my eyes caused terrible looking bags. I had previously done Boletero 6 months ago with beautiful results. I had hyaluronidase injected twice because I needed more even after the first injection. The doctor and I think that I still had some boletero under my eyes that didn't dissolve after 6 months so when she filled them with more, she over-filled my eyes causing excessive bags and swelling. She said that most people metabolize hyaluronic acid fillers more quickly and I am luckier than most because we only need to do Boletero once a year under my eyes. The fillers last longer for me.

Wow, this is a great response. So your doctor actually considered that possibility that she overfilled and worked with you to correct it? I can only dream that would happen for me.

Sorry to hear, Eyesosad! I'm dealing with the same bad under eye filler saga, as you and so many others here on RealSelf. Some days, it seems a little better than others, not so much. I have been 4 times now to the same nurse who originally put in the Belotero (just one syringe over 2 visits). She only puts TEENY TINY dilute amounts each time. It swells up over the course of hours and days, but seems to just go back to how it was before the dissolver, i.e. no improvement. I'm wondering if the tiny amount is not enough to do anything, yet will putting more cause other damage? Ugh! I'm in the process of trying to schedule a consultation with an oculoplastic surgeon. I think a specialist is in order, in my case. Best of luck, please continue to update :-))

My doctor put a pretty good amount of hyaluronidase around my eyes... it stung and it hurt going in. I saw great improvement two days later. I thought I needed a little more so I went back for a little more. My eyes looks so much better now. Perhaps you just need more? It helps to wait a few days in between to see where you need more.

I'm so glad you've had a positive correction experience. I had a terrible result with Perlane, and an unsuccessful attempt to correct it with the same Dr. I'm now going to a new practitioner to have it reversed. I can only hope I have the same results as you! ;-)

I had the same issue with juvederm voluma and developed biofilms under my eyes- hard puffy capsules. My injector tried several times with the small recommended amount of hyaluronidase with little or no effect. In desperation I contacted a major UK cosmetic chain who recommended one of their consultants. I paid privately to see him and travelled quite a distance. He advised that small amounts were not effective in my case and used 450 units with a forceful massage under the eyes to break down the filler. I could see and feel
An immediate change. It had almost gone under both eyes. I bruised dreadfully over the next 2 weeks and had to go back for one small area by one eye that hadn't gone but the treatment was successful. He's also put me on skincare routine to help with the bit of crepiness I have as a result and I'm
Also following a facial exercise programme which is having much better success than the filler anyway. It was a long and stressful process and I'm sad that j had to go through it and have been left with some minor issues but so grateful I found someone to treat it when I did!

LADIES !!.. Please do not do any fillers under your eyes the skin there is too vascular and thin it is just an accident waiting to happen as you have found out. My eyesaster took almost 9 months to look acceptable. I will probably need surgery now as my eyes are crepey when I smile and they still tend to collect water when I eat salty foods, whereas they did not use until I HAD FILLER PLACED THERE. Mine did not even swell UNTIL THREE YEARS LATER!! by the way it was Juvederm . I am sure there are those who will strongly disagree UNTIL it happens to them or one of their patients.
I just do not think that it is a good are to place filler, based on my own experience.
There are other options and besides we need to be more accepting of our little flaws
NOBODY is perfect and when you start down that road it ends up in DISASTER ALLEY!

Read my results. I do agree that the risk of putting filler in tear troughs and around the eyes and temples is very high, especially when more than the manufacturers recommended amount is used.

if i wasn't living on disaster alley, i would think your comments were cray-cray. but since i permanently reside there, i have to say you are 100% correct!

Read my story above. The only way I will ever look somewhat normal again is by surgery I can’t afford. So I am stuck with this mess.
I'm glad to hear you were able to fix the belotero without too much issue. Thanks for sharing.
