36DDD+ Ready for Relief

Hi everyone,

Just wanted to introduce myself to the community. I went in for my first consultation yesterday, and the doctor thinks I’m a good candidate for a reduction and lift.

I’m 30 years old, no kids, 5’1’’ and 165 pounds. I wear a 36DDD but am spilling out the tops and sides, so I’m sure I’m actually bigger. I’m hoping to be somewhere around a D.

I also suffer from PCOS, so I’ve enjoyed reading others’ posts who deal with it as well. I’m also curious if anyone has ever done micro-needling to help reduce scarring.

I’m currently waiting on insurance to see if it’s approved, but I’m also prepared to pay out of pocket, as I know it’s difficult for many to be approved. I’m hoping to have the surgery early next year.

Nice to chat with everyone!

Oh, girl, IDK who lied to you, but you are far, FAR from a 36DDD! You're at LEAST an H, possibly up to a J. No wonder you're spilling out of your bra!

I haven’t been sized in probably 10 years and would not want to hear the actual size, especially from a teenager working in a mall! I just choose to keep wearing DDD because it’s the biggest size they have in VS, Target, and other stores that are easy to shop in. I refuse to go to a speciality store! Hoping for the day I can buy any cute bra off the rack.

Hi, I got my insurance approval in a week with the stipulation of 480 grams removed per breast. I also have pcos but I do have two children many years of fertility treatments a lot of heartache and worth the effort. I have my preop this Thursday with a lot of questions. My surgery is scheduled for dec11th. I never really asked much or researched until I found out I was approved. Good luck and post how it goes.

Wonderful to hear you were able to have children! My main question in my consultation was about PCOS and if the surgery affects the balance of hormones at all, positively or negatively. I just thought maybe there would be an affect of the hormones your body produces with different size breasts. Haha, I have no clue! Doctor said fair question but no it would not change PCOS side effects in any way. Your surgery is right around the corner! Good luck!

Just had mine done yesterday. He took 240 out of one and 360 out of the other. My insurance wanted 482 out of the big one. Oh well I trusted my Dr and I am happy. He said he has taken less than the required amount many times.in 40 Yrs of doing this and it only got denied.2x and both times he appealed and won. He told me not to worry about. He said they have to have aboard certified ps to look at the appeal someone with just as equal credentials him or more. After 43 yrs there are not many lol.

Best luck to you!! I hope your insurance covers your surgery. Keep us posted. Oh and do not pay attention to negativity, I just read a comment that FAR FAR from being constructive is negative and offensive, but each one of his/her comments on this sites are offensive.
Best wishes to you with the procedure.!

Surgery Date Scheduled!

I just got off the phone with the doctor's office, and we have a date! January 19, 2018.
They were oddly booked up more than three months in advance, which they said it usually isn't booked up that much. I travel a lot and it was hard for me to find a date other than in January that would work. So after the receptionist spoke with the doctor, he agreed to come in on a day he doesn't normally do surgery to accommodate me. I have to admit, I'm feeling pretty guilty about that—that's just my personality to not want to inconvenience anyone. So as excited as I am, I do have some guilt for them bending over backward for me.
As for insurance, I'm just going to pay upfront, and the office will help me submit claims after the fact. Has anyone done that?
I guess now I just enjoy the holidays until my pre-op appointment, which is the first week of the new year!
Any advice for things you wish you had asked during the pre-op?

Looks like you had surgery yesterday. Hope all is well! As for the claim part I work for BCBS all you need to do is get your receipt for your procedure and get a claim online and just fax/mail it to the address on the claim form and you should get a response within 30 days or sooner

Thank you! It’s been a whirlwind of a week, not in the best way. I was laid off my job three days before surgery. So now I have to deal with unemployment, insurance, and Cobra all at once! Life is tough sometimes!

so sorry to hear this, easy for me to say but try not to stress out. You will be in my thoughts
