I have relied on this website a lot for information and inspiration. Thank you for being here and being honest. I had a BA in 2003. Dr Roark in La Jolla did a wonderful job, I couldn't have gotten better results. Very soft, natural, healed quickly...today, I am hoping to feel better in general by removing my implants. When I got my boob job in my early thirties I told myself that if I ever questioned my decision I would just take 'em out. I am in my forties now, and dealing with some lung health issues, and find myself having some anxiety over having the implants. I don't blame the implants for my lung obstructions, but wonder if my immune system would be better without the implants. My mindset is if I get rid of them, I won't have to wonder or worry. It will be out of the equation, and whether it helps my immune system or not, I will feel better having eliminated the anxiety I am starting to associate with them. I remember my old self, and have often missed my old self; I am hoping and praying my body is as forgiving and accepting of the explant surgery as it was the implant surgery. My surgery date is July 6 with dr pousti. Will post "before" photos soon.

Photos are a little akward. It was hard to selfie a side angle with an iPad!

Well, getting ready! Wrote down a lot of the tips I came across from you ladies.very helpful. I still need to do some cleaning and shopping tomorrow. Luckily, my husband is taking some vacation time and will be here if I need him. Have prescriptions filled. Now just a few prayers. I will post again soon with my after pictures when I can.

Good luck! Can I ask why you aren't going back to your original surgeon? He did a really nice job. I got my silicon implants in 2003. The results were good in the beginning, but then I developed capsular contraction. The still look okay but are very hard (which on the plus side makes them stand up by themselves well). I've been thinking about taking them out and appreciate other people writing about their experiences. All the best!

Thank you for the well wishes! The only reason I didn't go back to my original surgeon dr roark was because I couldn't find as many explant reviews, before and after pics, etc for him. What I did find was very positive, I just found more for dr pousti. I felt that the more experience with explanting the better. But I have to be honest, I was indecisive at first because roark did such a good job with my BA. Just because I couldn't find as many before/after stories on line, doesn't mean he hasn't performed as many, but the internet is all I have to go by.Here's hoping for the best. And good luck to you. Let us know what you decide.
