One Month Post Op (explant)

Just a quick update. Posting a few picks of me in my sports bra. It's just a regular ol' sports bra from Khols. It is super tight. No padding. I have a large back and shoulders and wear a size Large. I hate being it in 24/7- but time is flying and I want to follow my dr.'s orders. I have one more month in it. Can't wait until I can sleep bare breasted! One new development these past couple weeks was MONDOR's CORDS. I developed a cord under my right breast that runs from the incision sight in the fold of my breast toward my stomach. When I suck my stomach in or stretch high above my head it looks like I have a guitar string inside me. You can even pluck it. You can't see it in this pictures. It is a little tender. It's basically an inflamed superficial vein, that can occur after breasts surgery. Just google it if it happens to you, there is a ton of info on the web. Nothing to worry about, it will fade with time. My steri strips have finally fallen off. Scars look very fresh and pink, but small. Started using an essential oil today that is suppose to work wonders with healing scar tissue. ( 10 drops Helichrysum italicum, with 10 drops lavender, carrier oil is sweet almond oil with vitamin E). I am not recommending it yet as I have never used it before, so will let you know how it works for me over the next couple weeks. My activity level has greatly increased, and I am feeling SOO good. What a relief. I am finally back to work ( slowly). I am loving the natural me and already comfortable in my old skin. I am so proud of myself for getting those implants out. My hope over the next year is to have increased energy level and a stronger immune system without them. Here's to hoping!

You and the others who reviewed their own procedures made me take the plunge. I had mine removed March 29, 2018. I'm waiting for another month and then will pst before and after pix. I am soooo relieved. But I hope that (eventually) I will look half as nice as you!!

Congrats!! You look beautiful!
I just read ur story now but wish I could've sooner and told u to take sennecot with the Percocet!
Anyways, the dents will disappear, I'm 5.5mos post explant & they've bounced right back (had 300cc overs for almost 12yrs).
You'll be so happy over the next few months!
Happy healing!!

Thanks for the input satf. I wish I had found your story sooner. Sooo encouraging. Wow! You really look a amazing. Hope you continue to post for a while so I know what to look forward to. Do you remember how long you waited to return to yoga? I am getting restless at 5 1/2 weeks out, but do not want to rush things.

I'm less than a month away from having my implants removed and I opted for a lift also. My ps drained them two weeks ago, I have big flat areas in my pec area where the implants were under the muscle. You look really good for just having them out. I can't wait, November 6th can't get here soon enough. I should have a b cup when all is said and done, which is what I was before implants.

Thank you so much for sharing your journey! I had saline implants in 2000 and now I’m feeling like I need to remove...I am very much a natural healcare approach woman and struggle with vague fatigue issues for many years.. who knows of connection but I want my clean natural body back! I am very afraid of anasthesia, I have learned I have MTHFR gene and do not detox well... if I’d known years ago I would not have gotten them to begin with. But that’s the past and your story has given me courage to move forward. Aloraciate your detailed experience..,

* appreciate lol

Understand your anasthesia fears, I felt the same way. The only thing I was really dreading actually was the anasthesia. But I knew someday they were gonna come out, so better sooner than later. I didn't want to be even older, more tired, or more issues. As soon as I found my doctor I booked my surgery. If you know you have a good doctor, Just do it. Don't look back, even when you get a little scared, you will be a little excited too. I am 7 1/2 months post op and celebrate my decision every day. ( paying my credit card payment with a happy heart)! I'd never heard of MTHFR before and can't imagine having even more to worry about. Tell your doctor of your worries, ask him to hold your hand while he is putting you under( my doctor did). You WILL heal, and feel sooo much better. I'm excited for you, and will be following your journey. Keep us posted!

Surgical bra off and can finally take a real shower! It's been a long 2 weeks! Well, these are my breasts an hour after taking off the bra. They are pretty much how I remember them. A little lower and I have these dents/dips in my pecs which I am told are due to the pockets formed by my implants. Doc says the dents will always be there. Wondering if any ladies saw any improvement with this? Regardless, I love being implant free. FYI my nipples have looked the same since before my boob job (3 kids and 6 years of breastfeeding ). Sports Bra shopping was a little disheartening-it's very hard to find anything flattering in my size- big back, small boobs. But by the time I got home I was over it. I'm just more happy they are out than I was frustrated with buying a bra. I will post a picture of my boobs in a bra soon. But first, coffee.

They look great! Congratulations! You have quite a lot of tissue. If you ever want to get a lift in the future, you can. I never heard about people having dents afterwards. Hard to tell in the pics. I think I used to buy my sports bras at Title IX. At the time, they were the only company selling decent sports bras. Not sure if you want to put them in a sports bra yet. Sports bras smash the girls quite a bit, but maybe that's okay. They do make underwire sports bras that might help. Sorry if this has all been written before, but where did you have your incisions? Did you have the capsules removed too? Thanks and I hope you continue to feel good!
July 24, 2017
Thank you zivia! And I will check out those sports bras as I will be wearing them for a few more weeks. My incisions were under the breast in the creases. You can't see them. As far as the capsules, my goal was to remove as much as possible, without being too invasive or inflicting excessive trauma to the body. I am hoping he got 100%, but if he only got 95%, I am fine with that. I actually forgot to ask him how much of the capsule he removed, I will be sure to find out during my next visit in a few weeks. Hope all is going well with you!

Hello! I have been patiently waiting for your after explant update. And oh how very good you look!! I can't tell for sure but you look like your breast and body type are a lot like mine. I am a 34 DD now, 5'8" 150 ilbs. I have three grown children and my implants are silicone under muscle 29 yrs. I think yours are saline. I am awaiting my 2nd consult to explant. I can only HOPE AND PRAY that I look nearly as good as you do afterwards. I was absolutely delighted to see that you look so nice. I have only heard one other lady on this site mention the pec dents. (I wish I could remember who) But Im pretty sure she said they improved with time. I'm certain that I too will have them since I've had these darn implants so long. Did u have total capsulectomy?? I'm sure I need that. But I'm so nervous about all this that I literally get a case of IBS when I think about LOL...seriously! Anyway...you look just wonderful. Very encouraging! Thank you so much for sharing!

Thank you mazalee! Your words are so encouraging! Hope your second consult goes well and you are set to explant! We are the EXACT same body type, height and weight. My implants were saline/ under muscle. As far as the capsules, I had as much of the capsule removed as possible, without being too invasive. I was hoping since my capsules were paper thin, that they would come out without too much trouble, and to be honest, I completely forgot to ask my surgeon about it during my post op! Thanks for the reminder! I check in with him in a few weeks and will ask him then. I wanted a total capsulectomy if possible, but not if it would prolong my recovery or create too much trauma to my body. ( this is just what was best for me- whatever is best for you I SUPPORT YOU 100%!). I totally empathize with your nervousness! The waiting is the hardest part. I went nuts with my research . It will be behind you before you know it and we are all rooting for you. Let me know when you have your surgery date!
July 24, 2017
Thank you so much for your reply! My next consult is set for Oct 4th...I most likely will have a nervous breakdown before then...lol. But I am on thier cancellation waiting list so hopefully I will get in much sooner. One of my breast hurts a great deal but no visible changes other than just some slight firmness. But I have never wanted anything as bad as I want these plastic balls out of my body!! I hope your day is going wonderfully and that you are resting and recoverying well :)
July 23, 2017
You look great ! .. I have been implant free 7 weeks and mine look a little better each week.. I don't think you need to do anything else ...you look natural and perfect. My dr told me I will not know the end results for 6 months... he said the upper part will fluff up ... so your dents will probably lessen ... good luck!
July 24, 2017
Thank you sooo much excited2bme! I really appreciate the positive support. You are a little over a month ahead of me, so I will be following your journey and wishing you the best as well!
July 25, 2017
You look like you are recovering very well. Thank you so much for sharing. I am going for my post-op blood work and EKG. Then I'll be going in to surgery on August 4th. Following you has been very helpful as I am nervous as heck!
July 28, 2017
you will be so happy to have it done. I so much understand the nervousness. I think somewhat that was the worst part.

Two week post op

Just an update. Feeling SO much better. Body slowly going back to normal. ???? No constipation after I put the pain pills away. My cough and wheezing did get worse, so I went to my general practitiioner- bronchitis- Antibiotics are already helping and I can't believe how much better I feel. Girls with asthma/lung issues- don't hesitate to see your doctor if you are even a little worried. My second post op is this week, I will try to post pictures after the appointment. I can't wait to get out of this surgical bra. It is crazy uncomfortable and the most unflattering thing to wear with my clothes. There are only a few loose shirts in my closet I look decent in. My doc wants me to wear it a couple more weeks so I am hanging in there. I am still sleeping inclined because of my lungs, and because I'm not comfortable sleeping on my side yet. I'm doing a little driving, and some outings, but trying to take it slow-as I tend to over do it. I am chomping at the bit to go outside and play!! I can't wait!
