I have always been a small, petite girl, with...

I have always been a small, petite girl, with barely a size A cup. I have a young looking face and even when I wanted to look my age (27), I could never quite achieve it. I've always been comfortable with my body, athletic built, avid snowboarder, runner, dancer, tennis and golf player and never wanted my breasts to get in the way. I found Dr. Pousti online and made a consultation for the following week to help give me some advice on how I can achieve a little more on top to be more confident in bathing suits without interfering with my active lifestyle. During my first appointment, while I was still in the waiting room, he asked if I would like to see some of his other patients who were in for their follow-up. That immediately made me feel comfortable and confident in his work. The girls were both very pleased with their procedures, which made me excited to hear his advice for me.
After our first consultation, I knew that Doctor Pousti was the right surgeon for me. He has 20+ years of experience, double board certified, a family man, and just a "top class" guy.
My biggest fear had always been going too big. I wanted a natural look that would make me more proportional; a look that is good for sports and good for corporate work. I didn't want anything too obvious as I think a breast augmentation is a private procedure that I didn't want to have to explain to my co-workers. Simple elegance was my goal.
The next morning was the big day!
On the day of my procedure, I was very nervous (as one can expect). However, Doctor Pousti took the time to personally call me the night before to see how I was feeling. This was just the first of many times he called to check in on me throughout my journey.
Dr. Pousti's staff at the surgery center were top notch. They prepped me, went over exactly what would happen in the operating room, and we looked over the pictures AGAIN to ensure we were all in agreement with the look I wanted to achieve. Dr. Pousti assured me I was in good hands and that he would deliver A+ work. The rest went very quickly... the walk into the operating room, the nurse and Dr. Pousti both holding my hands made me feel at ease and relaxed before I went under. Before I knew it, I was awake in recovery and happy to hear that he put 275cc and was confident I would be pleased with my new addition :-)
I'm now on Day 2 post-op and going to see Dr. Pousti this afternoon for the first look at the new me. I'm very anxious, nervous, but definitely excited! His staff has been wonderful, calling me a few times every day to check in on me and answer any questions I may have. Dr. Pousti himself even took the time out of his busy schedule to call me last night and assure me everything is going to be wonderful. They have the best customer service and I would highly recommend Dr. Pousti and his entire staff to anyone and everyone that is looking to enhance themselves in anyway.
He is high class, top notch, and an all-around amazing surgeon!
Pros: The confidence, the people, the customer service.
Cons: To be honest, the only con would be the pain afterward. I had some trouble sleeping the first couple nights, as getting up in the morning your body is sore, but I found setting my alarm for every 4 hours to ensure I was up on my medication seemed to help get me through the night.
My biggest piece of advice for people considering breast augmentation, is to research, research, research and then communicate, communicate, communicate. I was one of those girls that got caught up on cc amount and bra size, but I've realized that you can't let that control your decision. Show your surgeon as many pictures as possible because that is the best way to communicate your desired look. Everyone is different, and as Dr. Pousti will explain, "our breasts are sisters, not identical twins". My number one piece of advice is to follow your gut and to trust your surgeon. If you're in the right hands (aka Dr. Pousti), then there won't be anything to worry about. So just relax and enjoy the improved you :-)

I googled plastic surgeons in San Diego and Dr. Pousti was one of the first to come up. After researching other surgeon's websites, I was eased by the fact that Dr. Pousti had hundreds of pre/post pictures on his site. Much more than the other surgeons. This made me feel like he had nothing to hide, and was proud of all of his work. Very important to see the surgeons work!! Ironically enough, the day before my first consultation, I found out that my neighbor had gone to Dr. Pousti a few years prior for her breast augmentation as well and was thrilled with the results and his thoroughness. That sealed the deal for me and I never even went for a consultation with anyone else.
