Ready for a change…
Like most of the ladies on this site, I’ve wanted breast augmentation for as long as I can remember. I have always had very apparent asymmetry and lack of fullness. Breastfeeding changed the entire appearance of my breasts, and literally sucked the volume right out. So, I was left with sad, asymmetric, droopy breasts. I was extremely self-conscious about my breasts and disliked everything about them. Thus, my decision to pursue breast augmentation was made and I began looking for a certified and competent surgeon. When I found Dr. Pousti online I was of course blown away by all the phenomenal reviews on this website. I wondered how much of it could be true, to be honest. But the more I researched his practice and methods, the more impressed I became. So, I made the decision to travel to San Diego to consult with him.
Consultation:
My consultation was a dream. I spent over three hours at Dr. Pousti’s office discussing my goals, concerns, and plans with both him and the wonderful ladies on his team. I was delighted to talk with and view Dr. Pousti’s work with a few of his patients that just went through the augmentation process. I think it is an excellent way to connect with other ladies in an honest, open environment, and ask all the hard questions. Plus, being able to see post-op results was extremely helpful in making a decision! Now, it is obvious that Dr. Pousti is a busy man, but when he steps into your room, it is as if you are his only patient. He is personable, funny, competent, and I connected with him immediately (which was a relief). He was able to communicate my goals and more importantly, he was 110% honest about what he could do for me. There was no beating around the bush or complying with whatever I wanted. He completed his examination, and gave me his expert opinion, even if that wasn’t what I wanted or expected to hear. At this point, I realized that he was the real deal. He could have just said, “whatever you want, you’re the patient,” but his first priority is safety and the welfare of his clients. This also impressed me.
The loss of volume in my breasts had caused too much droop, and I needed a lift. I was not expecting to hear this, and it came as a shock to me. It was an emotional visit, and I didn’t really know where to go from there. Dr. Pousti made me feel confident that he would provide the best outcome in a one-stage lift/augmentation procedure. I trusted his opinion and his ability. I booked my surgery the same day and I’ve never felt so sure about a decision. We didn’t decide on a specific “cc” amount, this would be decided in surgery and dependent upon my breast tissue. The main priority was safety and low complications for the future. However, I started out a small B (with asymmetry) and my goal was a D cup. Ever though Dr. Pousti does not talk “cup sizes” he knew my goals. So, I left the final decision to him, and I was confidant that the result would be beautiful and nothing short of my desires.
Dr. Pousti called me the night before the surgery to talk about any concerns and make sure that I was doing well. He even went out of his way to rearrange his patients for the next day so that I could be the first surgery. I was surprised and very grateful for his thoughtfulness and dedication. This reassured me that I couldn’t have chosen a better doctor!
Surgery:
I really don’t have a lot to say about the surgery itself, besides the fact that it went well and was over really fast! Dr. Pousti was there to talk with me again before surgery and we went over the details for a final time. The staff was great and very kind. Dr. Pousti and the nurse held my hand as I fell asleep ?
Immediately following surgery, there is tightness in the chest and the muscles are very sore for a few days, but it is not painful. I think it has a lot to do with your mindset going into surgery and the skill of the surgeon. Overall, I felt fine and I was on medication for about 3-4 days. I also had a drain on one side for the first week; this was due to the amount of tissue that was removed from one breast. It wasn’t too much of a bother and it was removed during my first post-op appointment. I was told that a 495 cc implant was put into the left breast and a 545 cc in the right, and the implants are high profile. I was very happy to hear the amounts and certain it would bring me to my goal!
If you have any specific post-op/surgery questions, ask away!
Post-Op:
The ladies at the office called me every day for two weeks to make sure I was doing well and answer any questions! That’s amazing service ?
I had my post-op appointment 5 days later and I was able to take a sneak peak at the results----beautiful!!!! There was so much fullness and volume – two things I have NEVER had before. I could cry, I was so happy! I couldn’t really see beyond the top portion and the bandages, but from what I could see, I knew that I had made one of the best decisions of my life, and found the best surgeon a girl could ever ask for! Everything looked great and I was healing well. My next post-op appointment I was able to remove the surgical bra and get a look at everything for the first time. I was amazed at the size, symmetry, and healing process! I had to look twice to get a good look at the vertical scar on the left breast (which was an anchor lift). The right breast was a benelli lift (with the incision only around the areola). Overall, my experience has been wonderful, minor pains here and there which is normal, but other than that it has been a smooth recovery. I know that this is due to Dr. Pousti’s fine surgical skills and abilities.
I am finally out of the beautiful surgical bra and have bought my first few sports bras post-BA and I’m officially in a D cup, couldn’t be happier! Dr. Pousti has delivered on all counts, he achieved my goal and I now have confidence in my body that I have never had before!
I’ll continue to update with pictures as everything heals, drops and fluffs out beautifully. I love my look now, but I know I will love it even more as time goes by! If I’ve missed any specific details, please feel free to ask.
