41 Yr Old of Two Kids, Ready for my Tummy Tuck! - San Diego, CA
ORIGINAL POST
After having two kids, via c-section, my tummy...
WORTH IT$8,000
After having two kids, via c-section, my tummy isn't the same - especially after having my daughter 3 1/2 year ago. I look 4 months pregnant all the time and my tummy skin hangs. Constantly pulling up my shorts or jeans over it. I have tried wearing SPANX, but those get so hot. Maybe it is just me entering my 40's? Hormones are changing? I excercise regularly and have a healthy diet. My tummy hasn't changed. : ( I am finally going to get my abs repaired and have a flat tummy, December 30, 2014! I am feeling excited, yet nervous about recovery. I know it will go well. I just find it hard to sit around and do nothing for a week, or two in the house. Also, I feel bad as this isn't a small amount of money to spend. I deserve this! We moms compromise our bodies to carry babies. Why can't do what we can to feel and look our best? I will keep you posted as surgery time gets closer and post op. Thank you everyone for sharing your stories and photos. It helps me keep my courage to do this! : )

Frustraded
I have told my immediate family, my parents, sister and my mother in law. Most are supportive , however my mother , who is a personal trainer, tells me not to go through with the surgery. She told me that I can fix my separated abs by exercise and specific an excercises for separated abs. I understand her concern and perspective as a personal trainer. However, will it help with loose skin? I share what my mom tells me to my husband who is now wonderig if she is right. So now he is suggesting to get a personal trainer. He isn't saying to cancel the TT surgery but try out a personal trainer for awhile. I am feeling frustrated. I don't think they understand what it feels like to have my belly and separated abs. Feeling unsupported.

That sounds very frustrating! I am lucky enough to be very supported by friends and family. After all the research, we both know that the SKIN isn't going away! Try to stay positive, and remember this surgery isn't for them anyway!! ;) Have you taken pics? I'm looking forward to my "after" photos. Can't wait to hear how surgery goes for you! :)

Had to postpone surgery date
Oh, I had to postpone TT surgery to Jan. 13 as I will have family still in town Dec. 30. Would hate to have surgery while they are still visiting.

Hi, Do this for you. All the personal training in the world is not going to rejuvenate the loose skin which has exceeded its elastic limit. A trainer post surgery will give you great tone and definition on your newly re-tightened abdominal muscle, but do nothing for the loose skin. January may seem a long way off, but it is only 3 months, so use this time to get your preparations ready, stay focused and positive and remain stress free for a quick recovery.
