So far, so good. He’s not in CA anymore though! I am at the very beginning of my treatment and will try to update as possible. Like everyone else, I’m hoping it doesn’t take too long!! This was the first provider I saw and I do wonder if I should have shopped around, but I have two very young children and time is a luxury!

The details!

I am supposed to use 28 trays, switching to a new tray every two weeks. 14 attachments on top and 8 on bottom. No rubber bands or IPR so far, but I’m going to ask about both. The first 4-5 days were really uncomfortable, not the teeth or jaws so much as my tongue and cheek wear it rubbed on the sharp edges. My teeth we’re very sensitive but I’m no stranger to Motrin and it worked like a charm. Now there is zero pain and the trays actually feel loose. Interested to see what the next set feel like! I’m not a fan of my new lisp and they still feel conspicuous when I talk, but I guess it will get better/I’ll get used to it. Brushing and flossing with every meal is a bit annoying but not too bad and I like my teeth clean anyway! I’ll update after I switch to tray #2! I’ve actually named my aligners for my two year old, haha! “Tracy”, for “trays” and “braces” combined. Hey, if I’m the dorky grown-up with braces, I’m going to live it up! ;)

Your teeth are almost identical to mine, I start Invisalign on the 7th August and have been assigned 18 trays plus 3 overcorrection trays with 26 attachments! I'm so excited to get started, I look forward to seeing your progress!

You were given so much more information than I was beforehand! I showed up to my appointment to get the first trays and attachments and I found out how many I had of each. Although my overnight is pretty bad and won’t be fixed all the way, that doesn’t bother me. My bite in the back lines up well and it would be a huge bummer if straighter teeth sacrifices that. Hope both our Invisalign journeys go smoothly!

Third tray update

They are much more comfortable now, and I often forget I'm wearing them. It's still annoying to take them out to eat anything! But I am happy with them so far and can't wait to notice a difference soon!

Forgot to add: I have noticed that every set has a sharp part on the upper right side that gives me a ulcer on my tongue. I really need to remember to file the fourth set before use! It's just the one area. It was really difficult for the tech to get my molds originally, and it makes me wonder if the back upper right side doesn't perfectly match my tooth. In any case, filing helps!

Good to know! If it lasts with the next set I'll look into that. Right now motrin has been working for me
