So I did some research on this VIPEEL before I got it done and Everyone loved it!!! Well I didn't react so well to it. It's already Wednesday and got it done on Monday 2 days ago. My face is swollen and I feel bad because my husband looks at me and shakes his head. So today I'm going to see the doctor who performed this peel. Ill keep you updated. By the way I research to see anyone reacted bad from the peel like I did and found nothing. Not even on YouTube. I found a few who had minor issues but nothing like this !

Nice doctor answers any questions. It's not the doctors fault why the peel reacted bad so that's not why I'm writing a bad review on him. It's my body that didn't react do well. That's why I still give him 5 stars.

Hi, I did it couple years ago and didn't like it. It took me long time before I felt comfortable to get out of the house and see other people. My skin was so tight and burning at the beginning and when I started to peel off, I covered with tons of small pimples on my chin. And i think because of that peel, I got melasma on my chin.

I finally put makeup on today... I had to see a specialist last week and the dermatologist gave me a steroid shot because I was so swollen and my face was on fire. But everything is calm now. When I would put on makeup it would burn and make things worst

Saw doctor!

So I walked in the doctor's office and was crushed, he said he has never seen anything like this. He just said stop using the VIPEEL Cleansing product and the moisturizer that comes with the Kit.. Just to use cold wash cloths with ice packs to bring down the swelling. He also gave me a gentle cleansing soap and another cream that has stem cells that helps with burns... Apparently I was allergic to the acetone... So I'll see how this goes.. I feel like I'm the only person who hashed this bad reaction.. I couldn't find anyone else that experience this, I hope I can help someone out there who is looking and I hope I have a positive out come. I'm trying to be optimistic about this whole experience. But this is not the doctor's fault it was my body that reacted and my doctor is super sweet and is trying to help me. I'll post another photo tomorrow...

I had the same reaction that you had. My entire face and eyes swelled up to the point my eyes were almost swollen shut. I am also allergic to Retin A and any product that has retinol in it. Like you I called the esthetician who is with a doctor and went in. The doctor gave me a kenalog (corticosteroid) shot in the bottom and all the swelling was just about gone with in a day or two. I have adult acne too and have found that peels that have resorcinol work great for clearing up acne. Also, 1 to 2x a year I have the plastic surgeon do a CO2 fraxil laser on my face and that really clears up the acne for a long time. However they are very expensive.

Hi pinky77, thanks for the info and for your reply! Means a lot to me, I was starting to feel alone

You are not alone, but I think we are the exception to the rule, but that has pretty much been my life stream. Find a good esthetician who is with a great dermatologist who will work with you and not just prescribe pills, and a plastic surgeon who knows how to use lasers effectively. I am olive complected like you and worry about hyper-pigmentation to my skin, which can look really bad. I totally understand how you feel. Men or people who have nice skin just don't get it or have a clue. They don't understand or see the scars within.

I'm sorry honey, but this is your doctors fault he should have done a test 48 hrs before any procedure!
As a professional he is supposed to know you always test for allergic reaction! Your Dr looked over the most import thing to do before you chemically burn somebody's face with a peel!
I'm sure it will be ok and your doctor will correct anything that need be, but it will all work out.
Keep a good attitude and picture yourself healing ok

I also had a horrible burning and reaction to the Vi peel which did nothing to get rid if a few small dark pigmentation areas. Now I have some cratered scars and large red scar areas that are hard to cover with concealer. I'm using a scar recovery cream but I don't think it's helping much. I never had to wear thick makeup before this procedure. I would never advise it for anyone. I'm curious as to what laser options have worked. The office I went to have mentioned so many options. I just want one that works and I don't want to invest a lot more in this!
