Eleven years ago I had my first baby via home birth. I stuffed severe tearing (through the muscle and all the way to the anal sphincter).
For some reason the midwives did not stitch at that time and it healed open like this.
On long hikes internal menstrual products tend to drop since it's so open. Sex of course is fairly lose as well.
So I decided to have it repaired. Insurance would have paid for it but I decided to go with a very experienced provider out of network.
I had my consult a couple of weeks ago. Other than the one hour waiting time it was a good experience. I'll go back in on the 15th for my pre op

Had my pre op visit.

Because I'm over forty I also had to get an EKG, chest x-ray and blood work. Now I'm cleared for surgery.

I got a bunch of stuff at my last visit so of you're going with Dr Hailparn hold off on shopping. For example I we going to buy a donut pillow but one came with my free kit.

Only one week you go!

I survived it! Had the surgery Friday morning and it's now Sunday.
Yesterday afternoon was a bit tough.
I had a post op visit yesterday morning and because we live a bit away that meant sitting in the car three hours. I think that caused some swelling and I stored being able to pee. Was worried it would mean catheter... Tried all of the make you go pee home remedies (ice pack for swelling, peppermint EO , shower, etc) and I'm back to being able to pee. Whew.
In much more comfortable today. I'm using everything I got: morphine suppositories, Tramadol and ibuprofen for the swelling.
I got to see the result during the post op visit and it looked much better than it felt!
I think I'm going to be really glad I did this.
I'll post the before and after shots when I receive them
