I was on doxycycline doryx then bactrim. Bactrim cleared while combining Spironolactone. I developed an allergic reaction to bactrim. My derm suggested tazorac 0.05% gel. With spironolactone 50mg twice a day. 7 days in I'm peeling , shedding. I'm using vanicream sensitive soap. With Neutrogena sensitive oil free moisturizer. Already I'm noticing smaller pores. I'm going to stick it out. I have break outs then they go away. Has happened twice in the week. 12 weeks to victory? Worth the shot. Keep you all posted. Oh before I forget for makeup I'm using physicians formula. Seems to not add to my skin problems. I will try and keep a weekly log.

I initially wanted to give a weekly update. But with all the questions I had prior to using tazorac. I figured anytime , I see a change in skin I'd update. So I'm 9 days in. Yesterday I had a flare up with peeling. I noticed my acne is healing faster. Sometimes I'd have a pimple for weeks. I'm noticing they go down in a day or sometimes in 3,days. Also the tazorac is bringing out my Whitehead's. When washing my face I noticed one came out. With no effort. Also noticing other Whitehead's are drying out and coming out or flaking away. I am washing my face waiting about 10 minutes. Moisturizing then waiting another 10 minutes for moisturizer to dry. I apply tazorac gel . I use a pea size amount. A little goes a long way. If your unsure look at vegetable peas . So you have a close to accurate idea. My derm also prescribed me a topical antibiotic. I had to wait to purchase it. Because its 70$ with everything else I pay for. It can be killer. I will update tomorrow with combining tazorac and topical antibiotic cream. I just want to say. As far as the purge goes. Moisturize oil free sensitive skin. Sensitive skin soap. Don't over use product. I notice following intstructions closely helps. Flare ups have had a few in less than 2 weeks on tazorac. But they heal quickly. ^_^

Okay y'all I am 14 days in. Yesterday while applying tazorac , I had skin coming off my face in rolls. Kinda gross lol . But no one saw that. Hehe, Anyhow the night before yesterday. After applying taz . My face began to itch. Felt good to scratch it. But I refrained from that. What I've noticed is smaller pores brighter skin. I have only about 5 pimples on my chin one on forehead. While tazorac has helped acne heal in less the time. I did have a flare up. I'm hoping my skin will began to behave. Prior to using tazorac I had 3 chemical peels layered glycolic and syclic acid. 25 and 35% I also had two sessions of extractions. Then a month later I had a rejuvenize peel. This has been a long journey. Tazorac brings out black heads white heads. I've had tazorac pull out about 6 white heads in two weeks. While using taz. I noticed I'd flare and they'd go down. I had probably 30 pimples when starting taz. As they flare and go down. As this happens they are clearing. From 30 to 5 in 14 days. I mentioned in last update. antibiotic ointment. Won't be ready for pic up till today. So I'm solely on spironolactone 50mg and tazorac gel.

Thanks for the update, I have been thinking about having an extraction treatment - did you think it was worth it?

I think it was definitely worth it. Was a bit painful ..But worth it. No scarring when professionally done.
