I have had to wear glasses since I was in the 4th...

I have had to wear glasses since I was in the 4th grade. It had progressively gotten worse so that when I was 31 I had 20/475 and could not even see 4 ft. in front of me without my glasses. I had thought about getting LASIK but it was sooooo expensive, and no guarantees! Luckily, once day I got a groupon for Lasik with a limited quantity ( 40 ). I IMMEDIATELY went to go check out the doctor associated with the groupon and she had outstanding credentials. I didn’t wait to think about it, I just bought the groupon. And I am so glad I did. 30 mins later, they had sold out.
I waited months to redeem my coupon because I was so scared after reading the horror stories, but I had already spend the money, so I made my appt the week before the groupon expired. The building is a little lackluster to say the least, but I try not to judge a book by its cover. When I actual interacted with the staff, they were all wonderful, attentive, and answered all my questions. The doctor herself was VERY patient and sympathetic to my anxieties. The day of the procedure there was a lot of waiting as a lot of patients were getting the procedure done. The upside of the waiting is that I got to hear a lot of people talk about how quick it was, painless, and many commenting how they could immediately already see a lot better. When it was finally my turn I was taken to a bright all white room that was very cold. I sat down, and it was just like how everyone else describes it. Sit still, look at light, then blurry, 10 clicking sounds, next eye. It was over in less than 10 mins. It’s the afterward part I want to talk about.
My eyes BURNED. Like crazy BURN. After I got home I tried to sleep and when I got up, the burning lessened, but it was still there. When I woke up the next day....I was soooo disappointed. I still could not see!!! My vision had improved, but no way could I drive w/o glasses...problem was since my vision did change somewhat, I couldn’t use my old ones! And my eyes were soooooo dry. I'm talking like Sahara desert dry. I would put drops in like every 10 mins. Well a week went by and it got to like 20/80. I was beginning to regret it. A few more weeks, and a little more improvement. To wrap this story up, it took 6 MONTHS before my eyes finally got to 20/20, with no rings, no light sensitivity, and NO MORE DRYNESS. So yes, for me at least, it was not overnight, but eventually I did also get to 20/20 and normal eyes.

*** The procedure cost listed here is the groupon rate..I believe the regular cost would have been 4000, and that was 2 years ago****
