So I got approved! It was so much easier than i though.. I'm 5'1 and weight 163 . I thought I was going to get denied cause I was over weight but was surprised when they approved me. Im so thankful cause I cannot live with this pain in my back anymore! Not to mention the f/g bra shopping!!! Horrible I would get a g cup and I would still spill out of it so I might even be bigger...I wanted to see if any out there had g cups and trasnistioned to a c cup. I can't imagine what they would look like but more importantly I'm so excited about trying on new cute bras!

I honestly couldn't ask for a better surgeon! I went into this really scared and confused about this process but he answered all my questions and made me feel at ease. The staff was just so sweet and caring! One of the nurses there made me feel like i was one of her long time friends! (I will post her name later i forgot it) Surgery day was very overwhelming and i was just plain out nervous. Dr. Delio Ortegon walked in and met my family and answered all questions. He was drawing on my breast and even apologized that he wasn't talking cause he was concentrating. That was so sweet of him to say and I appreciated that. i was a extremely nervous about going under anesthesia since it was my first time. The anesthesiologist was honestly an angel! He spoke to my family and answered any questions they had as well. He was probably my favorite part because he brought such a peaceful energy in the room which made me feel calm and ready to go under. I said my goodbyes and then i woke up in the recovery room and went home that same day. I woke up on my couch to see that i was bleeding a lot so my boyfriend called the Dr. and he quickly responded with wanting to "face time" to see what was going on with me. I almost fainted and i remembered him saying "is she okay? Its because she saw the blood" I thought that was funny..I've gone in for two check ups since them. One check up was for him to see if everything was going well and the second was to take out my stitches. My next appointment is sometime next month. My advise to anyone getting this surgery would be to definitely do it. If i recall correctly he removed 2 1/2 Pounds from one breast and 2 pounds from the other.I have read horror stories about drainage tubes and how painful they are and was presently surprised when i didn't wake up with them. Every surgery is different and the surgeons might think its best if they put them on you but im glad he didn't use them on me and but gauze under my incisions instead and oh yeah my breast look amazing! Thank you to Dr.Delio Ortegon and his wonderful staff he has working for him.

Congrats on getting approved. I'm scheduled to have my br done July 20th. I've seen a lot of positive feedback on this site. I'll be following your journey. I'm sure we will both be relieved and happy once we have it done.

Congrats on the approval! Start to envision yourself with your smaller breasts and be sure not to go to small unless that's what you want. Once their gone their gone.

I went from a K to a C cup and I couldn't be happier. I was going to the DO every 2 weeks for him to adjust the 6-9 discs that would pop out all the time. I even had breathig issues from them! I love bra shopping now! bathing suits shirts everything is so much easier.

Oh hon, I think you may be a bit larger than a F/G. Be smarter than me and get a good measurement of yourself before.

Yes, I had surgery Apr 9th, from a 34G to a 34C. they are now cute, little and perky. At first I thought I had gone too small, but I am getting used to the smallness after being so big. I can always add more with a bra, but could never take away. I love the feeling of being light, going braless and not having to worry about tops being too tight or buttons busting open.

HI! If you go to the breast reduction reviews page and go to the "sort by" line you can click on the "cup size decrease" drop down menu and choose G to C. I am also G hoping to go down to C when I get mine done later this year! It can be done but is a fairly big decrease so you need to be firm with your doctor that you want it!! A lot of reductions seem to only go down 2-3 cup sizes that would put you at a D-DD. Of course cup size is relative to band size so if you have a small/narrow ribcage it might make you pretty small. But the main thing seems to be to make sure you really communicate with your surgeon that you would rather turn out smaller than bigger!! If you are spilling out of a G cup you might be bigger. Of course it also depends on the style of the bra-I am 49 and have significant sagging so I can't wear a plunge bra even in the right size I will fall out if I lean forward!! But in a full coverage bra I typically wear a G.

Thank you for your comment! Im going to be very firm about at c cup that is what I really want! If i were to do this and still be a D that would suck cause I'm still gonna feel big...

Don't get too excited about bra shopping just yet :p. I'm three weeks out and I am still very swollen. Won't have a good idea what size I'll be for a bit. I was a 38DDD/F and asked for a small C. Even if they turn out bigger they already feel so much better weight wise. Good luck, and just as the others said, be firm with your doctor.

Wow! I'm so happy for you!! I'm gonna ask for a c but even if they come out to be a d wow I would be so grateful..have you retured to work yet?

I actually just quit my job since I'm moving to England for my hubby's job on June 25th. But honestly, 3 weeks would not be bad at work so long as you can take it easy and not lift things.

What I did to help myself envision smaller breasts is to buy 2 of the exact same bras, one is 34C, the other 34D. Both are full coverage bras, and when I hold them up to each other, the difference is not really significant. When I tried them on, it's hard to believe I could be that small (I'm a 34H), because it really is small by comparison, even the D. My goal is 34C, but looking at and trying on the 34D, it really is not that much bigger. So I am OK if that's the smallest he can get me - it is WAY smaller than I am now. I showed my boyfriend last night and he was like "whoa, I didn't think of you as that big, but if that's a D cup bra you're spilling out of, damn!" He's fully supportive by the way, he'll see me pulling on 2-3 sports bras to run and say "bet you won't miss that!" I know D sounds big in terms of the average breast size, but when you've had supersize breasts your entire life, a D is wee! And I was surprised when a friend told me she wore a 34D, I thought she was a full B, small C. I'm a terrible judge of breast size bc I'm used to mine! Good luck to you!!

I told my surgeon to take as much as possible but stop when he felt that the asthetic would suffer. I'm pretty sure I'm a D cup after surgery but I haven't been fitted. I asked him to use his best judgement for optimal outcome. Don't get hung up on cup sizes, and don't get bras yet. My sugery was 04-15-15 and I am still wearing a soft surgical bra.

QUESTION BEFORE consultation

LORIANN14
So I'm covered by bcbs???? I have my final consultation in a couple days and I want a small c but I'm wondering if bcbs will be the judge on what size I am?

I was also approved by BCBS, and they recommended 400 gr per breast. I'm 5'5, and 139 pounds. Mine are DDD/E, and very heavy! I was so excited looking at bikini tops at Target yesterday. Next year I will be able to fit into one! My surgery is scheduled for July 7th. I'm starting to get nervous!

I also have BCBS, and got my approval in May. One PS I saw said he'd remove around 600gr, and figured out that according to the "schnur scale", insurance would probably require a minimum of 484gr be removed. The other PS (the one I decided to go with) said he'd remove between 400-500gr, plus to lipo to shape and get rid of side boob. I hope he takes enough so I'm not left bigger than a C, I want more athletic boobs (34G, hoping for 34C)!
