Almost 3 months post surgery

I'm glad to report my right thigh openings have all healed just like Dr Fisher said. I'm much better but still have itching around my scars mostly at night. Drives me crazy but I still use benydryll.
I think I underestimated thigh surgery. A tummy tuck is way easier & shorter recovery. I have no regrets but I'm glad the worse part is behind me. I really like my new legs.

Bumps in the road

Well there are still bumps in the road. My right thigh wound opening seemed to be infected. I went to my primary care dr. yesterday due to swelling above my right knee. It was becoming hard to walk so I started to worry. I don't have a fever or pain...just was concerned because it just didn't look normal. My dr sent me to the ER for I.V. antibiotics and that took about an hour to receive. Of course there was a long wait in the ER for my prescriptions an results of labs ( hours- UggH)
My blood work & vitals were all good. Results from the culture didn't come back yet. I got a prescription for oral antibiotics. Today some of the swelling has gone down and I feel better just knowing things seem o be getting better.
With thigh lift extended surgery healing is a process. My left leg healed perfectly but my stubborn right side had wound openings. Don't get discouraged if this happens as it isn't uncommon.
I am using Medi honey that I ordered from Amazon. It really helps with wound healing. I read about it on this site.
Hopefully I'll have more good news to report about my wounds in the next couple of weeks!

Turning point @ 6 1/2 weeks

It seems 6 1/2 week is a tuning point in the healing process. I feel like I have alot more energy. I have less swelling & tightness in my legs and very little itching and soreness. I still have some open wounds which are healing well with the use of medi honey wound gel. I'm still wearing my compression garment and trying to eat a diet high in protein, take vitamins, bromelain & arnica. Sleeping on my side is much easier.
My best advice for anyone undergoing a thigh lift, make sure you get 100 grams of protein even if you have to drink protein shakes. Do this from day one.
It only gets better with time!!!

Provider Review

Board Certified Plastic Surgeon

Overall rating

Great experience with caring & highly qualified Plastic surgeon (Dr. Peter Fisher) in San Antonio Texas. After all the thigh lift reviews about his work, I decided o travel from D.C. To Texas for my surgery. It was well worth it. I'm in week 3 of recovery. I stayed in Texas for 15 days and focused on my thigh lift recovery. I have found that Dr. Fisher and his staff are responsive to any concerns/questions & get back to you right away even when you return home. Check out my before pictures on Happy Camper in DC. I will post other pictures once I get them back from Dr. Fisher. He's definitely 5 stars and worth traveling to Texas.
