Dr Fisher was very thorough and very professional on his examination. He found the way to get the best results with the minimum amount of surgeries, I liked his honesty, considering that my case will be a very difficult one. I do trust him with my body and after all the effort, I know it will be worth it. He took pictures, and explain the procedures he was going to do on me. I am very pleased with the consult. Can't wait to get my surgery done with him. Thanks Dr Fisher.

Thanks for starting your journey with us! I'm glad to hear your consultation went well. When are you planning to have surgery?

March 29, 2016
Sorry for the delay in my response. My first surgery is planned for mid July or Early August. Second surgery will be summer of 2017.
March 23, 2016
What are you planning to have done and what is the staging he is recommending?
March 29, 2016
My surgery is very extensive due to my excessive hanging skin. It will be divided in 2 parts. First surgery will be lower body lift, Breast Lift and Back lift. I need to get to around 160 lbs and then have the surgery. The second surgery will include arm lift and legs.
March 29, 2016
A few more questions, if not too personal... How much weight have you lost? About how much is the first surgery running? I am considering very similar set of surgeries and am 47, highest weight was 327 , he mentioned about 160 for me as well, not sure that is going to happen, but trying hard.

Right now I am 198, but I still have 4 months til my surgery. My plans are to get to 165-170. The first surgery is almost 20K (I left the paper at home so I can't remember the specific amount) but I know that amount will change because I talked to the ofc yesterday and one of the procedures that was going to be done on the second surgery, will be done on the first surgery.

I had lost 135 lbs

thanks for the info. I am in preliminary talks with a few surgeons, including Dr Fisher, looking for surgery between Dec- Feb, we sound very similar. I am at 220's( I got down to 190 after bariatric but I had regained to 240's) and working hard on dieting and fitness, so should be 190's in mid summer. So at 197 I will have lost 130#. I look forward to hearing about you thoughts and progress with him.

So I Decided to Go with Dr John LoMonaco in Houston

Marivonne
I met Dr LoMonaco back in 2006 while attending an Obesity Help convention, I remember telling him "When I decide to do my plastic surgery, you will be the one doing it" and took a photo with him. Fast forward many years, gone through 2 weight loss surgeries (lap band and RNY) finally I have decided that it is time to address my severe sagging skin issue. I went to two doctors, one in San Antonio and Dr LoMonaco in Houston. After reviewing my consult with both, I went with the one that I felt more comfortable with. Dr Lomonaco spent quite some time with my husband and I explaining the alternatives and the safest way to do my staged surgeries. I felt COMPLETELY at ease with him, he answered every single question I had. I never felt rushed in any way. His staff is SUPER HELPFUL and I feel completely confident that I made the right choice. I could have gone with the Dr in San Antonio, which is closer to me in Austin, but I had to follow that intuition inside me. My surgery is scheduled for Tuesday July 26th, I am super excited but at the same time scared. Scared because of the unknown and the difficult recuperation, but NOT scared with my Doctor. He is TOP NOTCH and very knowledgeable. I trust him 200%. I will keep you posted of my progress. I can't wait to see Dr LoMonaco's expert work on my body.

I am also considering either of these two doctors for my future surgeries. May I ask why you chose one over the other? Do you feel Dr. L could give you better results? Or was the decision just purely based on a difference of personality? Is the cost stated above that of Dr. L ? Thank you and good luck!
July 21, 2016
No disrespect to Dr Fisher, he is an expert in his field, but I felt way more comfortable with Dr LoMonaco. He took a long time to explain things to my husband and I and even asked my husband if he had any doubts. I know how Dr LoMonaco works, I have seen his work and he is an expert in his field. At the end, I went with the person that made me feel more comfortable. When I did the consult with Dr Fisher, I felt like if I was "rushed" and I did not liked that. After all, I am putting my life in the hands of the doctor I choose. I felt was more comfortable with Dr LoMonaco.

yes, the price stated above is the price for my surgery with Dr LoMonaco. Money well spent, in my opinion. :)

Thank you for your response. I couldn't agree more, to most doctors we are just one of many in a herd but as individuals we have to live with the results for the rest of our lives staring at us in the mirror and putting our lives at risk. Not to mention that for many us this is our lives savings we are using to afford the procedure. From pictures Dr L seems to have better scars and and does an overall better job shaping an individual back to what they are supposed to look like. What are you having done and in how many stages?

The price seems good. I'm from NY about 1.5 hours from the city. I consulted with a ps there and she wanted 40k just for a lower body life with auto-augmentation of the buttocks. I almost gasped and so I began my search out of state and knew I could find great quality work and probably get my entire body done for that price.

I met Dr LoMonaco 10 yrs ago while he was a speaker on a Obesity Help convention. After listening to his talk, I was convinced that he was going to be the one to do my plastic surgery, once I was ready. Well, 10 yrs went by and finally I lost enough weight to be ready for my plastic surgery. As a person who has been morbidly obese all her life, this was my dream come true. On the preliminary visit with Dr L, he reassured me that I was doing the right thing, he took his time to explain me the procedure and answer me all my questions. I appreciate the fact that he never made me feel rushed, on the contrary, he must be the most patient doctor I had dealt with. Once decided the kind of procedure we were going to do, he made sure I was healthy to endure the procedure. The surgery went as expected, even though I gave him a hard time in the operating room, he told me I was a bleeder (sorry Dr L) . After surgery, when I looked at myself, I cried.. for the first time in my life, I was happy about my body.

It has been 7 weeks since I had surgery and so many wonderful things had happened to me! thanks to Dr LoMonaco.

Behind this wonderful doctor, there is a fantastic team of people...Chela, Destiny, Stephanie and Vicky. They have gone above and beyond my expectations. Chela and Destiny had managed to call me every day to make sure everything was going okay. Does not matter what time of the day, they were always there for me.

I am half way through my journey, I am still looking forward to do Upper Body Lift and when I am ready for it, of course it will be Dr Lomonaco the one that is going to do it.

Dr LoMonaco's expertise, caring, bedside manners and personality along with his amazing team is what made this experience THE BEST. Thank you Dr L, Chela, Destiny and Stephanie.

I am considering Dr. L after 2 kids and a 75 lb weight loss. I am anticipating to have my surgery by next year. I have been doing extensive research into a LBL. Did you get a fat transfer to the buttocks to prevent flattening? Did you have a thigh lift in conjunction with? How do you feel about the results? Has everything been made nice and tight? Do you feel that the LBL achieved a good pull on the thighs from the front and the posterior? If you could elaborate more on the details of the procedure, it would be greatly appreciated. I am also interested in having an arm lift and a spiral thigh lift but would like that as a second surgery.

arghh.. I had responded to your question and it did not post. let me try one more time.
As for fat transfer: he transferred a small amount of fat to my buttocks but he will address it further more on our second surgery. I am ok with that. The LBL achieved a bit of the thigh problem. It helped a lot on the sides of the thighs, but not that much on the front and inner thigh area. Considering that I once was 375 lbs, I am SUPER HAPPY with my results, my abs looks pretty good. Yes, I have some areas that will be retouched on our second surgery, by then, a yr would have passed, all the swelling would have gone down, and we can see where any retouch (lipo) will be needed. On this first surgery, we did lower body lift, with fleur de lis incision (inverted anchor) . He also did lipo on the flanks and hernia repair. My horizontal incision goes all around me and the vertical incision, helps a lot to define the waist. I had minimum pain because DR L uses a pain pump that it really helps a lot, I recommend it. On my second surgery, we will address the legs, arms, breasts and upper back fat. I can't wait. I hope you decided to go with Dr loMonaco, he is an expert and his bedside manners are awesome. Also he has a team of very nice ladies that will take care of all your needs and will report your progress to Dr L. Let me know if I can help you in any way and I wish you well.

De L also did lipo in the pubic area.

Thank you so much for your response. Very helpful! So far he is my only choice as this is his speciality and his work and scars are impeccable to that of others. I look at others work but keep coming back to him. Congratulations on your hard work and reaching the final phase of your journey. Best wishes!

Thanks for your kind words. I am still half way through. With God's will and me working hard to save the money, I hope I can get the upper body done next June 2017. In the mean time, keep working hard to protect his great work. :)
