I have always had huge boobs and wanted to get some of the weight taken off, I also had a saggy belly that laid on my legs when I sat down, I wanted to get a tighter core and rid of lose skin. It started out well looking good. I won't lie the first few days are so painful. After 3 weeks I noticed my skin going black on my scar from my tummy tuck. It went neurosis and ever since then it has been a roller coaster ride. It is a very long process to heal and is so emotional seeing something like this on my own body. Today on August 11 I went and had is debrided and am hoping it will start healing faster now that the dead gross tissue is out of it. I will keep you posted. I do smoke cigarettes and have cut back from where I was. I am at 1-4 a day instead of 10-15.

After debriding

floralkim78
one day after my debriding the wound looks better and smells better. Now just got to give it time to heal a bit and continue a wet to dry dressing.

I'm right there with you. I too had some skin die and I had an open wound. My surgery date was April 16th and it still hasn't healed completely. I am feeling a lot better and now my wound looks a lot better. Just keep the faith and it WILL heal, it just takes time...

thank you I am happy to know I am not alone. Take care of yourself. This is draining but I too am glad to hear it will heal.

Hi, I am an ex smoker of 20 years. I quit about 2 months before my procedure. I also ended up getting a Necrosis Wound. I am going in to get it debride this week so that we can start the healing process. I am so frustrated and tired. I feel like I have more pain now then before. I'm now six weeks post op and I feel as though my whole healing process has been delayed due to this hole! You are about 3 weeks ahead of me in the Wound healing process and they appear to be about the same size. I would like to know if the debridement hurt and if it hurts to to the wet to dry dressings? I do feel pain from the edges of my Wound and when my dressings stick to it or anything presses on it. Oh wow I also smell like walking death! Any advise you have on my next little while of healing would be greatly appreciated.

The debriding was not painful at all. They only remove dead tissue which has no feeling. The smell will get better after debriding, it is an awful smell. The wet to dry dressing is not painful and seems to be pulling a lot of the dead tissue from my wound that the dr. Could not get to. I do have a few spots where the nerves are coming back on the sides of my wound, that does get painful and annoying, I have been using a neosporin with pain reliever in it in those spots which seems to cut down on sone of the pain and ibprofin seems to take the edge off too. I am sorry you are going through this, it is very frustrating and emotional. Hang in there. My wound is looking better everyday since debriding. Good luck to you.

37 Year Old Had Tummy Tuck and Breast Refuction

floralkim78

This is a update on my open wound. It has been three weeks after debriding and it is getting healthier. I am still doing the wet to dry dressing daily. In a week my doctor will sew it closer together in hopes it will begin to close faster. This has been quite the process but will be worth it in the end. I will continue to update.
