I have been working really hard to get in shape and loose weight before I go in for a tummy tuck and lipo. So far, I've lost 19 pounds and am sitting at 164. I feel good. I'd like to loose about 14 more pounds. Anyway, back in February when I decided to do this, I looked and looked for doctors. I'm an RN, so I have a little more insight and understanding when I read reviews about good and bad results. I decided on Dr. Fryer in Draper, Utah. I called his office and spoke directly to his office manager. I told her I wanted a tummy tuck and 3 areas of lipo. She gave me a quote, which she said was close, but might vary by a few hundred dollars. Ok, fair enough. So I went and spoke with Dr. Fryer and had my consultation. Yes, everyone was very nice. They should be. They're selling a service. After my consult, the same office manager came in and the quote I received was not hundreds different, but almost $6000.00 higher than I was quoted. I asked the officer manager about this and she said that Dr. Fryer had raised his prices since I had originally called to set up my consult. Wow. I guess so. I felt like I had been brought in with one price and slammed with a huge increase. Yes, I'm willing to pay for quality, but don't bait and switch me. I am certainly disappointed in the outcome of the consult. I won't be going with Dr. Fryer. I'm officially looking for a quality surgeon with upfront pricing that doesn't change on the day you come in.

I had an epiphany several weeks ago. It included the fact that I'm not getting any younger and for once in my life, I would like to feel sexy naked. Ok, well, not Victoria Secret sexy (I don't think they feed those girls), but enough to take my husband's breath away. I won't shower with him because I feel so self conscious of my body. It seems I've struggled with my weight forever. Twenty years ago I had a gastric bypass which left a long vertical scar. I got down to 151 lbs (I'm 5'7). Then 4 kids came along, the most recent one at 43 (yes, she was planned...). So there I was about 3 weeks ago when a friend mentioned she'd had a tummy tuck and Lipo. And as we talked, the wheels in my head began to turn. At the time, I sat there at 183 lbs. When I got done speaking to her, I went out to my car and spent 2 hours googling everything about tummy tuck surgery. And then I found this inspirational site. I found myself incredibly motivated and encouraged by the women on this site. By the end of the day, I had a consultation scheduled with Dr. Fryer in Salt Lake City. I read reviews about him from NUMEROUS web sites. Women love their results with him (and his procedure prices are reasonable). But I didn't want to do this half way. I knew I needed to make some goals for myself. Goals that were reasonable and a method I could stick to. My goal is to lose 2 lbs a week until the 1st of July. In the last 3 weeks I've lost 7.5 pounds. I still have things like cookies; I just take one bite, savor the flavor and walk away from the other calories. It's not always easy, but I find that in my hours of weakness (7 - 11pm), I get great strength from visiting this site and reading more success stories and seeing women who look amazing. I WANT TO LOOK AMAZING. My journey has begun... I believe in me.
