2 Years and 3 Months Post Op
I figured I’d make a long term follow up post. I know that updates like these are super helpful!
Overall, my nose is still a lot better than what I started with. I wish it was a bit thinner from the front, that my tip was a little smaller/more refined, and my septum on my left side is definitely still deviated (but not as severely as before.) I definitely struggle with perfectionism though, and when I look at old photos, I see a good improvement. My nose is so natural that people don’t realize I’ve had work done, which is good. My tip is still pretty hard, and I’m not sure if it’s due to grafts or scar tissue. I scar pretty badly so I wouldn’t be shocked if it’s due to that.
Now to focus on the good, I’m not embarrassed of my profile anymore. I actually love my side profile more than any other view of my face now! I also feel like my face still has a lot of character but looks more feminine now. I think my nose fits my face well. I moved across the country so I don’t have access to Dr. Ward anymore, which sucks because it’d be nice to follow up with him and ask him a few questions, but he was a really nice, caring physician so I’d still definitely recommend him if you live in the Utah area.

10 Months Post Op!
Time flies by so fast! It’s been about 10 months post op. The only time I have breathing problems now is when my allergies flare up (which is like always ????.) I’m overall still happy with my results! I like my profile. I have certain angles that I don’t know because it looks wide and not as refined as I’d love but I’m just being picky. No one looks perfect all the time and at every angle. My next appointment with Dr. Ward is next month. I need to get my lips touched up so I’ll probably have him do that as well :)
5 Months Post-Op
Sorry I haven't updated in a while. I'm over 5 months post-op now. In the past 2 weeks my breathing has gotten SO much better. I can breathe perfectly from both sides. I got a prescription nasal spray for allergies from my regular doctor so that's definitely helped that a bit, but I also think my swelling is going down too.
From an aesthetic standpoint, I'm overall really happy. I have days where I feel my nose is way too wide from the front. It really depends on the lighting. Sometimes it looks so perfect and other time I feel like it looks like a blob. Sometimes I feel like my tip is still too long and other days I think it's perfect. I think this is all totally normal though. I don't know that I'll ever be a person who is totally happy with how I look, and I'll never achieve perfection so I just try to block out those negative thoughts as much as I can. I also try to look at old photos of me and that helps a lot. I'm so used to how I look now that I forgot what I started with.
On my last visit to Dr. Ward, he was super happy overall with my nose. He is concerned with a small bump on the right side of my bridge and told me if it doesn't go away that he wants to rasp it down. He also saw that inside my right nostril, I developed excessive scar tissue. It's so weird because that's the side I was healing best on. The scar just kind of popped up out of no where. He wants to cut out the scar once we're past the 6 month point. At this time, he'll probably rasp down the little bump on my bridge too. He normally waits at least a year to do the bridge but in this instance it makes more sense to do it a little earlier. I still have a lot of swelling in the tip that will go down. It's still really stiff to the touch. There's a little swelling around the bridge which will go down too.

Dr. Ward is super nice and knowledgeable. His staff including the CRNA and OR nurses were really sweet and helpful. Two of the nurses made sure I had their personal cell phone numbers in case I needed anything. Dr. Ward spent extra time on my nose making sure it would end up perfect. I can't wait for my swelling to go down so I can see his finished product :) Dr. Ward also offered me PRP injections which he did during surgery as well as a free aesthetic appointment (which is offered to all surgical patients) which I will use for a facial :)
