My surgery finished late in the afternoon. I was very nauseous from the Anastasia even though they gave me anti nausea medicine prior to and during surgery. My chest, from my BA, actually was very painful. Got dressed and went back to the hotel. I attempted to eat a little soup and a couple of bites of watermelon so I could take pain meds, but threw up. Slept off and on the rest of the night and day. Pain was somewhat tolerable. Needed hubby to help me in and out of bed to potty. I bought a wedge which worked ok. Hard to get comfy.
Post-op day 1 and 2 were rough! I was nauseous from the pain meds and couldn't eat much. Finally found a balance alternating the Percocet and ibuprofen every 4 hours. I managed some crackers and that helped when taking meds. I took a short shower post op day 2 with help. Luckily we got a handicap accessible room so it had a walk in shower with a bench. I was pretty hunched.
Post-op day 3 was a turn around day. Had a Percocet at 6am that morning and switched to ibuprofen only. This helped with the nausea. I also started milk of magnesia and a stool softener and had a bm. Felt so much better and less gassy.
Post op day 4 I got up early because I had a post op with my doc at 9 am. She was wonderful all weekend answering all my questions by text and reassuring me. I showered, got ready and helped pack us (somewhat). We managed to check out and still make it to our post op at 9am. Doctor keen said everything looked great. I have some swelling especially between my pubic bone and belly button. She said it doesn't look serious and to just watch that area as she did some Lipo on the mons area to contour that area to my tummy. That area is sore! Staples were removed and steristripes applied. Breasts are high, tight and odd shaped. She gave me some stretches she wants me to start to help loosen the chest muscle.
Headed home. 4.5 hour drive. We stopped for some breakfast and a managed to eat a little something and take some ibuprofen. My sons nana stayed at our home to help which was great. My husband found a electric recliner and went and bought it as soon as we got home. That was the greatest! The most comfortable I had been since surgery!!!
I slept in in for the next few nights. Nana went home. The six in the evening which was just fine. By that point I was standing up 95% straight getting around OK and doing some light housework on my own. I've managed to freeze 26 meals before surgery so dinner was no big deal.
Post op day 11 I had a follow up by phone. My left breast seems to be dropping nicely and looking good. My right one still looks odd, but the doctor says this is normal and the final result won't really be known for two or three months.
Scar looks great and swelling looks normal.
I'm having a hard time finding comfortable compression and everything seems to rub my scars wrong or make me so hot. I was told to experiment with spanx and try and find something comfortable. She also released me from my surgical bra.
I'm now two weeks and two days postop I feel pretty good. All the Steri-Strips have fallen off except for from my left breast. Still having problems finding comfortable compression. Any advice would be great. I'm standing up straight, I rode my bike, And I get around pretty good. I do still get a bit tired. I'm still having some significant swelling between my pubic bone and belly button but it goes up-and-down. My next post office in until October 5.

Hey lady! I just had my surgery today. Full TT with muscle plication. How are you holding up? You're almost a month out right? I loved reading your experience. Thank you for sharing. I have heard the word on the grapevine is bonito is the best for compression garments. I haven't bought one yet BC I have to be in the binder for a bit but when I get out of it I want to switch over to the compression garments. I'll let you know if I get them and how it goes. They are pricey but I've read all over Real Self and the web that they are well worth the price. Hopefully I'll be able to avoid swell hell with them. Sending you healing energy. You look fantastic in the pics! Congrats!

I'm actually doing really good. I started going to a hyperbaric oxygen treatment therapy. Just did it on my own. They have an independent place here that you can do without insurance. It's been really helpful with the swelling. I finally found some compression it's working for me. I am wearing spanx tank top style. It goes just under my bra and clear down to my mons area. Finally some comfort and I don't have to undress or go to the bathroom or go through a hole. So much more convenient. I went on vacation last week and went on at 8 mile bike ride, climbed all over the national Park. Even went up some ladders etc. I paid for that for a couple of days w/ some swelling and core pain. Honestly it was worth it just to feel normal after a month of laying around. Had my first bra fitting that was fun. I highly recommend some place like Dillards over Victoria's Secret. If you had anything done in the breast area. I'm going to post some updated pictures now that my swelling is going down. The first 3 days are the hardest. After the second week the incision starts to feel more normal. The numbness doesn't go away, but it doesn't feel so tight. Like you might break apart. Three weeks was another turning point. I have gone back to work this wee ( I just work part time). Still dealing with the swelling, especially in the evenings if I've been very active or after doing exercise. I'm not wearing compression at night at all anymore. I plan to start some light weight lifting with my lower body next week.
Good luck with this first week.

That's god advice for the compression tank. I'll have to check that out too. That's awesome that you're and to get back out they and be active! That was one thing I wasn't look forward to, not being able to exercise for a bit. Excited to see ur progress pics when you pay them. Thank you for the words of encouragement.

Tomorrow is the big day. Checked into the hotel, all supplies out and organized. The hotel is perfect! It's a suite with a separate bedroom, kitchenette and it's handicap accessible.
I'm a little nervous, but not bad. Will update post-op.
