I have been working on changing my lifestyle and body make up for over a year now. I knew even though I had made great progress with my weight loss and building muscle, I knew I would never lose the unsightly lose skin and stretch marks. I had been considering a breast lift but wasn’t sure about implants and as I went through the process I realized I was a really good candidate for a tummy tuck as well. After reviewing others that had undergone such surgeries, I was both excited and overwhelmed all at the same time.

The first week was pretty rough not going to lie. I had a lot of nausea and was in a lot of pain.

Surgery day April 18

rcampbell2012
I had to postpone surgery 6 weeks to get my high blood pressure under control. I had been having very high blood pressure numbers and they wanted to wait to get me on medicine and get that under control. So after 6 weeks under my GP’s care I was able to reschedule.
Ther day of the surgery I was so nervous they would postpone again because my BP was so high that day. Surgery went very smoothly and I stayed the night.
I have to say the pain was so bad. I was really having a hard time with the amount of pain the first week.

I would say after about two weeks and I was able to fully stand. I still have discomfort but it’s better each day. I am 5 weeks post op.

5 weeks post op and feel pretty good!!

rcampbell2012
I went to my 5 week appointment today and things are healing really good!! I can start to light exercise and next week I’d like to get back to the gym. The abdomen scar is still pretty red and I swell late in the day still. I still wear my compression wrap that they gave me in the hospital most of the day and sleep in it at night. Dr said I could start to be out of it more and more but I think it feels so much better when I’m wearing it. I’m hoping in another week (I’ll be 6 weeks out) that I won’t need it as much or at all.
I can wear bras that I want now and don’t have to wear the zip up sports bra all of the time. I will continue to wear one to bed for a while I’m sure. It hurts to go to long without one on. Scars are fading some from
the breast lift. I am using Mederma twice a day religiously.
