I recently had a CO2 laser treatment just around...

I recently had a CO2 laser treatment just around my eyes area to treat wrinkles and holding on my eyelids. Botox helps the forehead but I haven’t seen a lot of improvement on the skin under my eyes or on my eyelids because you can’t do Botox there and most of my damage is due to the sun and age.
I met with the nurse (Sarah) at my plastic surgeons office and asked what I could do to best help my face’s aging. She said the COre2 laser just around my eyes would help a lot, and warned me of the downtime.
I finally had the procedure done last Wednesday (7 days ago). I searched high and low for pictures of what the healing looks like so I’m sharing here for others. When they say 6 days post op with no makeup they mean it.
First of all, the procedure took about an hour. My nurse injected the area with lidocaine (like 20 shots??) which hurt a lot but once the numbing kicks in they hurt less and less. Then the paserbstarts. My right side didn’t numb as strongly as my left so I felt the zaps but they weren’t anything I couldn’t handle. I’ve had IPL many times and I feel like it was similar pain (but after 12cc of lidocaine so unbearable without it). I held the cooling air wand to keep it cool. The area felt like it was ON FIRE for about an hour. Ice packs helped a lot. I drove myself home because I didn’t take any Zanax to stay calm.
You have to keep aquaphor on the area for 4-5 days. No makeup. Day 2 and 3 I was swollen and super purple. I started to peel on the end of day 3, and underneath was bright pink skin so I kept that covered with aquaphor. You wouldn’t want it exposed to any chemicals or the sun.
By day 7 I already look normal again, a little Puffy under one eye but it’s from a filler I got at a different office that is blocking fluid. I need to have it dissolved.
So far I recommend it if you can stand the downtime. It was a super boring weekend although I did run errands. People just looked at me funny.

I love this office, Sara the RN did my procedure. I’ve had other cosmetic things done here before like IPL and treatment for my rosacea.
