Textured Implant Removal with Lift and 240CC Under Muscle Replaced 3 Week Post Op - Saint Louis, MO

ORIGINAL POST

I had 360cc textured implants over the muscle for...

Annaaaaa
WORTH IT$10,000
I had 360cc textured implants over the muscle for 10 years. They became hard and my nipples were hanging at the bottom. They were ugly. Worst, I believed they were causing health issues. Finally, my insurance paid to have them removed. The PS said it was a mess because the implants has separated and scar tissue was 1/2 inch in places with sores underneath. Getting the implants out was the best move I've made!
I did agree to pay for a lift while I was under and because I was afraid I would look hideous I had 240cc smooth put under the muscle...bad move. I wish I did not get the implants. I'm still too large and going back to have them removed. I am 5'4". 119 lbs and I'm still a 34D.
The breast are still to high. Even though everyone says' give it some time, I'm sick of big boobs. I don't like the way they look in my clothes or naked.
So, my advice to anyone is get the textured implants out!!!!

Hi Anna--it sounds like you have given this a lot of thought and just want to be small again like so many of us.  Will your PS remove them at a discount since you just had this done recently?

Yes, he is going to do it for free but I'm out for OR. I did agree to wait for another 5 weeks. I will keep you updated.

Please do!  Take care!!  We're here for you if you need us, Anna.

Hi Anna, I would like to say Congratulations on being able to at least fix the first part after your first ten years. I think that it is very good that you got your insurance to pay for the procedure. I am sorry for what you have been going through, I know that it is hard to believe someone you don't know, but I just would like to say that , if your breast look better than the pictures that are here, then if I was your friend in person, I would be honest and probably tell you that you look really nice now compared to the pictures. Because Anna, I understand that you were in pain and your nipples were lower than what is considered centered, but, You really do not look bad even with what you called, a mess physically. Physically and emotionally I am sorry , i know how heart hurt, you must of felt. I feel the same myself, about personally feeling I look hideous, even when others tell me that I look good. I am like you I am tired of the big boobs, & my problem is I want my implants out! I just want to be little again. I just cannot come up with the money. Every week I save what I can, but everyday , I just want the implants out, and honestly, I have a hard time even looking in the mirror. I have had my implants going on 13 years. I was a small 34B now I am 38D 450cc saline under muscle implants, ,,,my incision line, was done under each breast.. I can say one good thing I am not having any problems and they still look good. It is just emotional, I do not believe that I have to have big boobs to look pretty or to have my clothes fit right. I wish that I could just get some extra hours at work to earn more cash. I have even been selling things to try and raise funds. Sorry did not mean to write so long. I do hope that your breast will get low enough within the next few weeks to where you can be you know just relaxed and ok , I am glad that things are better now for you than what they were. I know that you will be happy when you have you new ones taken out, then you can hopefully be a small 34 something. Good luck to your next surgery, Hope that you do not have to wait a long time for the next....... Sensi

Check around for prices. My PS said it took him about 2 hours to remove mine due the scar tissue and adhesion for the textured implants. The textured implant are fuzzy and the fuzz with imbedded in the surrounding tissue with lesions under them. The fuzzy stuff had pulled away from the implants in places.

Thanks for your support. I have decided to keep the 240cc. They have dropped into the pocket and look much better. Even though they aren't as small as I wanted ( 180cc) they look much better than the 360cc and I can wear almost any type of clothing now. Also, I do not have any pain. The 360cc textured had scar tissue over 1/2 inch thick in places and signs of constant inflammation. I agree that big boobs are not pretty and I hated the way they made me look and feel. Stay focused and you will succeed in getting them removed.

I'm sorry you've had trouble with the textured implants. Thanks for starting your story on RealSelf. How has recovery been for you?

June 12, 2013
Recovery was good. The first few days were a little rough due to the implants under the muscle. However, the explant and lift did not cause any pain. Within in 10 days I was almost back to my normal. I don't know why I was so scared.

How did you handle the insurance? I have Cigna and they say they pay for removal of ruptured implants, which I have, but not for replacement or lift. Who was your doctor? Thank you so much for sharing your experience. I'm terrified now that I know i have a rupture.

Finale Implant Removal Scheduled for July22..I'll keep you posted.

Annaaaaa
I have schedule the finale implant removal for July22. The PS is providing the procedure for free since he is the one who insisted on it. However, I will have to pay the bill for the OR and anesthesia. HE did offer local anesthesia for free but I'm too much of a baby for that so I will pay for general. He said it should take 30 minutes.

Good for you, Anna!! We really do have to be persistent and advocate for ourselves when it comes to our bodies.  It sounds like it will be a big relief to you once you get rid of the fake!!

I almost went the same route as you and thought about smaller, but I'm just having them out. I've only had mine a few months even though I knew right away they weren't for me. I'm 7/19. So just a few days from each other we will be implant free!

Decided to leave the 240 saline under the muscle for now

Annaaaaa
My doctor's had me convinced I would not be happy with no breast tissue and severe sagging breast after at age 60 and 120lbs, so I agreed to smaller implants. I was thinking of 180s but the PS decided on 240s. At first, I was very disappointed because I felt like I still had large breast and implants. My doctor did offer to remove the implants and or replace with smaller ones. As time went on and swelling left, I've decided to keep them and have them removed at another date if health issues start. The scars from the lift are fading and over all, I'm happy with results. I can wear any fashion now and don't feel fake. Also, I'm not in any pain and not having any health issues at the point. My only concern now is the implants may cause breast cancer detection more difficult.

Hello Anna, I also had implants, started to have health issues, got them out, then had a lift, my husband at the time was no longer attracted to me he said "you gotta have some boobs". :( So I got more in thinking there would be no more health issues since the old ones were silicone and the new ones were saline. But here I was with health issues for four years til the day I got them out 8/23. I think we all have our own journeys and all journeys are sacred. I hope you have a better experience than I did. I wish you the best! Thank you for sharing your story! : )
