2 year update

I wish they were smaller as I still sweat a little underneath my breast when it's hot. I feel like the nipples sit up too high and she be over just a tab as they sometimes come out of my bra. My nipples are still sensitive . I have keloid skin so my scars did not heal well. I did get steroid injections earlier this year to help reduce the scarring as I still don't feel comfortable enough to wear a regular bra. I believe the injections did help with the pain or discomfort from wearing a bra.

I also received lipo at the same time of my reduction on my flanks and stomach and the results are uneven and not the same on my flanks. I asked the doctor about it and just blew it off as nothing. I'd suggest finding another doctor for lipo.

One Month Update

Week 1:
I was wrapped up for 3 days after surgery so I didn’t get to see my breast until I went back in the office to have the wrapping removed on the 3rd day. I was given a smaller recovery bra, as my surgery bra was blood stained. So, I wasn’t able to take a shower until day 3.
The pain was not that bad. I took the prescription pain medication for the first 2 days. I felt like it was making me sick so on the 3rd day, I started taking extra strength Tylenol. On a scale of 1 – 10, I would say the pain was a 6 or 7 on the first 2 days. I ordered 2 bras similar to the one I was given at the doctor’s office off of amazon.
I slept in my recliner on the 1st day. I think I slept in my bed after that. Just prop up your pillows. I had 2 behind my back and 2 in the middle to keep me from turning on my side or stomach.

Week 2:
I didn’t recall having pain in my 2nd week. I felt twitches sometimes in my breast but nothing where I need to take pain medication. I did take the muscle relaxers though as I felt my muscles where tighter. I removed all my bandaids during the 2nd week. I also went in for my follow-up appointment and everything was looking good. I received a free massage during that follow-up visit.

Week 3:
I returned to work. I noticed that I did get a little tired on one day where I had to do a lot of walking but other than that things were fine. I noticed a split starting to form in my T spot on one of my breast. I used Neosporin for 3 days but I wasn’t seeing a change so I called the doctor’s office. The nurse called a prescription for an antibiotic cream to use on the scar twice a day. So, I would put it on in the morning and at night before going to bed. I also started using Vitamin E oil on my scars. After my shower in the morning, I put Coconut Oil over my breast and scars. At night, I use the E oil.
IMPORTANT NOTE - I tried on my old bras thinking I could get rid of them now but they all still fit. They fit just right now so I’m thinking I must a size D – DD now.

Week 4:
T spot sore started to improve. I started using the prescription cream once a day. My skin started flaking around my breast really bad. Not sure why since I use the coconut oil everyday. Think I will try using Vaseline and see if that helps with the flaking. I went in for my follow-up appointment. Everything looks good. I painted my daughters room. I was very careful not to reach too far while painting. I also started back edging my grass. It’s an electric one so I didn’t have to pull a string. I left the cutting to my brother. I prefer to cut my own grass but I didn’t want anything bad to happen with my breast. My doctor said to wait for 6 weeks before going back to cutting the grass.
I’m still sleeping on my back. I turn to the side a little now but not a full size sleep yet.

Misc:
-Everyday for the first month, I used Hibilclens solution at the end of my shower. It’s the same stuff they give you to shower with the day before and of your surgery.

Love my New Look

I’ve been wanting a breast reduction and lift for 4 years. I’m 5’6” and 180lbs. My bras size was 34 DDD/F. One of breast is bigger than the other so one breast is actually bigger than DDD/F. I was constantly getting rashes under my breast as well as odors. I tried to get it approved through UHC insurance twice but it was denied both times. I had to pay on my own. I put the majority of the cost on my Care Credit Medical Credit Card (interest free for 1 year). The surgery center and other fees where put on my regular credit card.

I had several consultations before deciding to go with Doctor Caplin. I chose him mainly because of his before and after photos as well as reviews on realself. He also was able to do some fixes from my previous tummy tuck but I won’t get into that on this review.

My surgery was scheduled for a Monday. The Saturday night before surgery, I went out and had too much to drink. I was throwing up and very sick the next day. I believe this made me very dehydrated and the nurses had a hard time finding a vein prior to surgery on Monday. I took a laxative on Sunday night as well. I went home the same day as my surgery. I arrived at the Surgery center around 6:30am and left around 2:30pm. The nurse recommended that you have someone stay with you for the first night at home.

I took two weeks off from work. I think that’s plenty of time. I have a desk job. I could have gone back after one week off. One of breast is still bigger than the other but I love my results overall.
