About a month after

Just a quick update to show some progress about a month after.

So far, things are looking good. The improvement is modest, but I definitely notice it. Not something that others would notice, necessarily, but nice for myself. Some acne scarring that I had before has definitely improved. I think my complexion is better, although my boyfriend say he doesn't notice a difference. (We're still in the early stages though so he thought I was perfect to begin with! Ha!)

Skin will probably continue to improve somewhat, from what I understand. I have read that collagen's full cycle takes 3 months. At this point, I would say this: For best results, this is probably one of those procedures you want to buy a package of at least 2-3 times. I had been considering going in again, especially to see if having additional full PRP injections along with the micro needling would help with my thin-skin-derived dark circles (although I have read mixed reviews on that) but I am presently saving for a hair transplant in a few months so it's not an option. I have been considering Laser Genesis as well, because I've heard it can be fairly inexpensive, but we'll see. More skin improvements might have to wait until down the line.

Overall, I think this is a great procedure for someone looking to try something to improve their skin with minimal downtime, and minimal risk of negative side effects. That being said, again based on my progress at this point I would recommend buying a package of a few treatments for maximum results.

I will post again in a month or two if the progress seems to continue. :)

I used to have very good skin but I had a drug...

I used to have very good skin but I had a drug addiction that took its toll. All things considered, I think I have been fairly fortunate, but I hoped that microneedling with PRP would make my skin look younger, brighter, and clearer again. I went to my friend Maggie at Cascade MedSpa--she's a great esthi and I have gone to her a couple of times before for IPL for couperose veins around my nose (although I think I will try something other than IPL in the future because it does not seem to last very well for me.)

I only had the upper 2/3 of my face done--I thought trimming my beard short would be good enough for the dermapen or whatever it is, but she told me on arrival that it needed to be clean-shaven, so she gave me $50 off.

It's been a few days now and I am a lot less red but I am pretty peel-y like I have a sunburn. One area next to the left of my nose peeled a little raw--I am worried it is because I mixed a little tea tree oil in with my moisturizer because I was getting some zits, which got rid of the zits very effectively but maybe it was an irritant.

I made another post inquiring if it was ok to start using my Minoxodil on my scalp, and taking creatine which I take for weight-lifting (avoided lifting so far, but it has been 72 hours so I was thinking of getting back to it today.) Started using both products again today because I can't find anything that says not to online and nobody has answered me yet. Am doing my best to avoid anything anti-inflammatory for 2 weeks because I have read that anti-inflammatory supplements/products/etc can make the treatment less effective.

Am hoping within a couple of days the peeling/etc will subside and I will be able to begin to see what the treatment has done for my skin. I am a redhead so I know my skin can be a little more reactive than some people's and may take longer to settle down.
