I'm getting Belotero in my tear troughs next week....

I'm getting Belotero in my tear troughs next week. Maybe Juvederm after that. Wish me well. After losing weight and aging (I'm 55), the dark circles under my eyes were bugging me. I do TV interviews about once a month, and I hate how I look on camera. Never thought I would get work done on my face, but never say never. Two plastic surgeons said I was not a candidate for a lower eye lift.

She seemed experienced, but I had to find out on my own I should probably have the Belotero dissolved.

That's great, I'm excited for you! Please keep us posted on how it goes. Where are you considering having Juvederm?

Good luck I'm saving up to do mine. Try taking arnica orally and apply it topically to
Minimize bruising & swelling worked for my lips! Never bruised

Hi Molly. Was wondering how you are doing after your Belotero injections. Thinking about trying this, but a bit nervous about making the leap. Any comments one way or the other on how it has worked out? Thanks...

Hi. I am about five weeks out. My face is apparently a little slow to absorb/settle the Belotero, and I still have some puffiness under my eyes. If you work with a good aesthetician they will tell you to not plan on any big events (ie photography) for immediately after you have your tear troughs done. It takes 2-7 weeks for the hyaluronic acid to settle in.

Thank you Molly, I appreciate the update. Sounds like it takes longer than restylane to subside, which usually only takes about a week to settle in. But it could also be because of the location near your eyes. Much thinner skin. When I had restylane done in the past, it was in my laugh lines (from nose to corners of my mouth) and apparently that area is not as sensitive. I sure hope this all works out for you & you can start enjoying your pretty new face :-)

Please make sure you go to an EXPERIENCED tear trough injector, I had a bad experience with the first time I got it injected. Then went to a plastic surgeon who specializes in facial plastic surgery, he had to remove the old Belotero and inject it properly using a cannula. Also make sure they use the cannula, much less swelling and bruising. Good luck!!

It didn't go so well. I developed bags under my eyes. Now I'm getting the Belotero removed.

Belotero injections barely hurt at all. Today I am a little lumpy looking, but I was told by my ARNP that this is normal. Not ready to take 'during' pictures.

How's it looking? Bruising should be subsiding some by now?? I hope you have great results!

The bruising is basically gone. I am still a little puffy, but I understand it will probably take another week for the 'puff' to go down.

How were your results? I've been considering doing the same for a long time, but seems like I see more bad reviews tan good.

I can see some difference. It's not as much as I have seen online but I went into this knowing I would need multiple treatments. I have had people at work and family say they can tell. I still have some discomfort in the under part at the front of my chin that is like a muscle ache. I figured it was because maybe it's still doing its thing. I have until the first week of May before I get my next treatment so was going to do another round of before /after pics a week before.

Haven't you had a round of injections?

Disregard my craziness. I am confused by the apps feed and thought you were asking about Kybella. So sorry but I also have been considering the injections for the eyes and am curious about the results too.

Not a Good Experience.

I wrote a review at the time I had the procedure, but waited to give my final verdict. I have developed a lot of puffiness that seems to be trapped fluid, not product. Now the aesthetician is not returning my calls. I can't recommend Belotero for tear trough hollowness (dark under eye circles). I'm afraid that now I will have loose skin and possibly need an under eye lift.
