Good revision nose doctor in LA area? Please help!

I have thought about Dr. Gruber, I am trying to get an idea (through Real Self) of a particular doctor's style and skill by looking at before and after pictures, but I am not seeing a lot of pictures being posted here. I don't have a lot of money for multiple consultations at $200-$300 a pop so I want to get real opinions and experiences through this site if that is even possible. I feel that word of mouth is the best referral for a doctor…that is why I am drawn to this website. I am frustrated, because I haven't seen a lot of reviews for Gruber or even Frankel. Maybe I just don't know how to navigate this site very well?

There are only 2 reviews on Gruber on this site. And when I email there office they NEVER will get back to me. I got a consultation with Dr. Davis but i have to wait a year! Because he is that busy. I read some bad reviews on Dr. frankel on yelp. But no dr. Has perfect reviews. Its still scary though. I'd want to go to Daniel Rollins but he doesn't take out of town revision patients

And yeah lots of people not posting pictures is not helpful at all. Then we don't know if its fake. Good or bad reviews

I think by "fake" she means the reviews that almost sound so generic and like canned language. They are the reviews that have no photos…they are all about one paragraph long and it usually says something like..I'm so glad I found this doctor…he has changed my life. I have so much more confidence now. I would definitely recommend him/her. And there is not one photo and the user does not reply to comments made in the comments section. Those are the reviews that sound very fake and canned to me. Just sayin…..

I agree with newgirl007 .. It's not unreasonable to use the word fake on this site. There are a lot of fake reviews that I personally had to report to a community manager. U guys don't catch them all. U just have to be very careful at picking and choosing which ones u can actually take into consideration.. That's why I wish people would post pics. If u don't want to show your face just block it out. Please. When I get surgery I will definitely post pics. It's so helpful and comforting.

I agree if people are not positing photos it is not helpful. It is all just talk to me without photos.

PS Do NOT see Dr Rollin Daniel. His noses look very dated "80s" overdone. Avoid that!

Well I have respect for the Drs. that would not do my surgery they said I need a specialist. I was thinking about Dr. Menick he has the reconstructive background. I haven't been happy since my first rhino I really cannot take this anymore it's getting me depressed.

I was thinking about Dr. Menick as well because he is the closest doctor to me, and as I did research I found horrible reviews on him. On here as well. But again hardly any have pictures to prove it.

I saw those reviews too. BUT...every Doctor that I spoke too said that he was a good Dr. he gives lectures and writes books. His office is very nice and I sent an email with blurred photos .Dr. Menick himself wrote me and said he couldn't see my nose from the photos and I need to have a consult with him, It was certainly not for the consult fee as it is only $ 25.00. I was impressed by his reply, because another Dr. that I was set on ...I emailed the same photos to another Dr. and was told by the Recept. that the Dr. saw my photos and he can definitely fix my issues. I know he couldn't really tell from my photos , I had make-up on . So Dr. Menick gained my respect. I don't know if those reviews were real because I saw some of the photos on his site and he does difficult cases. I am not looking for a personality in a Dr. I can handle the interactions , I am not going to judge a person by that some people think differently and are blunt, I am like that sometimes so I understand. Dr. Grioryst ( probably spelled it incorrectly ) saw the same photos and he recommended me to see someone else, he was also nice he didn't give me a name of a Dr. nor did I ask. One of the Drs. that were from San Diego I forgot his name , I think it was an Asian last name said I needed to live in the area. I was thinking of Dr. Tourimi originally and I saw good and not so good reviews so it's a crap shoot. Butterfly3443 I am sorry I forgot are you in South Fl like myself? Did you chose a Dr. already ? I would like to speak privately if we could. It seems as if we are in the same boat....

I'm not a patient of his but would have certainly gone to see Dr. Menick for an in-person consult if he were close by, just to see what he had to say and see more examples of his grafting work on noses like yours. He does some wonderful reconstruction work. I travelled for nose revision - there is always a chance you may need to fly back and forth for aftercare like steroid injections and you don't want to miss that window due to travel constraints IMHO. I needed shots to manage some early scar tissue after one surgery (not nose) and they were spaced 6 weeks apart.

The thing that's mostly keeping me from seeing Menick is i know how much he's going to charge me. Because he told me and its more than 14k. Im not a billionaire i can't afford that

Here is the confusion, I have heard Dr. Menick is good for reconstruction what is the difference between reconstruction and revision I would think I need both . I probably need grafting but I want it to look cosmetically good too.

Most revisions are more than that, and most bill as cosmetic so Insurance hardly helps.

I am currently living in FL and have not heard much of these two Doctors. The only one that seems to be popular is Dr. Davis, I saw two neg reviews on here one from a guy that travelled from another country and one person I saw personally on his website that I know. I am really thinking hard about Dr. Frankel because of the videos I saw online. If Dr. Cochran is so good perhaps I should use him I cannot take this it is like a gamble. I was ruined by Dr. Sachs , they finally took away his license in NY I am so self conscious that it is not healthy for me to prolong this.

Why wouldn't you consider Dr. Davis? or have you?

I'm on your same page.. I'm so self conscious but so terrified at the same time.. I've been looking into bustillo and I also like dr Eric Joseph but I wouldn't want to travel . It sucks. There has to be a great doc in Florida.. I also live in florida. I've heard a lot about the two I've mentioned in Florida. They are also revision specialists.

Plus the consultation is free and u are pretty close in the vicinity. I would go to get different opinions to see what they say. It's good to hear how certain docs would take on your nose this way u can compare
