Found my Surgeon for Mommy MakeOver... Highly Recommend Consultation with Dr. Green - Sacramento, CA..
ORIGINAL POST
Decided to go with Dr. Green in Sacramento after 6...
$15,000
Decided to go with Dr. Green in Sacramento after 6 months of researching and consultation after consultation after consultation... So excited I am compelled to share my consultation experience. So if you are considering a Tummy Tuck, Or Body Lift, you must see Dr. Green.
My consultation with Dr. Green was amazing. From the beginning, Dr. Green was confident and recommended a less aggressive Tummy Tuck and Breast Lift than what other surgeons recommended, which made me feel comfortable and trusting (and trust is so important I now know)... Other surgeons went over the top recommending everything from Full body Lift with Breast Reduction (followed by implants, which is really counter productive in simplest terms ) resulting extremely long surgery and recovery time which is completely out of my comfort zone, budget and recovery limitations.
Dr. Greens approach was simple and surgery should be less than 5 hours total and he was confident in the results that he could achieve. One of the recommendations was to lose 15 more lbs which as Dr. Green explained will make a huge difference in results and operation time, which means cost as well. I agree. I have lost a tone of weight (over 100lbs from my heaviest) so what's another 15lbs?... Other surgeons told me no need to loose weight but I also now know this reflects a more lengthy surgery and higher price. I didn't feel like I needed to find out every little detail with Dr. G like I did with other surgeons who recommended very extreme procedures. I knew immediately he was the right surgeon. I am comfortable knowing he is capable of making decisions on my behalf because we are on the same page. He is no doubt a perfectionist and prides himself to be a leader of after major weightloss surgeries and mommy makeovers.. I feel as though having him do my Tummy Tuck and Breast Lift procedure would be simple, quick with a relatively easy recovery. Nice after hearing from Folsom and Davis surgeons that I needed 26 hours of surgery over a two or three phase surgeries, which is too extreme for my comfort level and budget.
Good luck to anyone going through the process.

Hey Make Me Over! I loved reading your story. So proud of you!! If I may ask, how did you lose the weight? I'm hoping to do the second leg of my Mommy Makeover (Tummy Tuck) sometime in the next 6 months, but I really want to lose some weight first. Please keep us posted on your progress!! God bless you!

Sorry for the late response. Haven't been on this site now that my serge on is picked. Anyway, I struggled, and still struggle with weight. I highly recommend counting calories and a daily excersise for serious weight loss. If you can stay below 1200 calories eating healthy foods, and do 30 minutes of a light cardio such as "Walk Away the Pounds" (on YouTube.com) I guarentee yoi can lose 5 lbs a weeks at first although it may take as long as a week or two for your body to adjust but it has worked for me. I now struggle keeping below 2,000 calories a day so try to make up for it with hugh intensity work outs and 1 hour cardio. Christmas and thanksgiving left me 10 lbs heavier and am at 193... :-(... My goal is about 175. Still heavy but for me, if active, a healthy weight. I can get it off though in spring during my recovery. Also, there is a drug called Phentermine which worked extremely well for me to reduce hunger. A great tool to start a diet program if you don't have health conditions like heart disease... Cost is about 100 dollars a month and worth a try if the weight battle is a losing cause. Anyway, good luck!
Hope to post some after photos. Not looking for a miracle, just improvement so crossing my fingers I have no complications.
Regards,
Michelle

Hi Make Me Over...how did everything go? I'm looking forward to hearing more about your journey. :)
UPDATED FROM Make Me Over
10 months post
Dr. Green finished what I started and I couldn't be happier...
Dr. Green did my "mommy makeover" consisting of a tummy tuck and breast reduction roughly 9 months ago after losing an excessive amount of weight, over 125 lbs. I highly recommend Dr. Green to anyone who wants an expert to do the job. I have learned he is a man of his word and trust him 100%. The results exceeded what I was hoping for by a long shot and know things will only get better with time.
I consulted with, in my opinion, the "best" Plastic Surgeons geared toward post weight loss and every time it was stressed to me how "complex" I was followed by ridiculously high quoted prices for over the top risky procedures including a Full 360 Body Lift Surgery plus a lift, nip and tuck of everything else in between. It was even suggested to reduce breasts to size A then use implants later to achieve a tight D size by one. Why would I do that? Anyway, saving the best for last and feeling frustrated thinking maybe I was just too far gone, Dr. Green was confident he could achieve "good" results in 4 and he did it in 3 1/2 hours. I appreciate his conservative approach, getting the proportions right (thumbs up from my husband), his follow through, for taking me on and delivering.
This process was not easy but definitely worth it in the end. I was not an easy patient either. There are couple "super stars" on his team who provided amazing care and literally held my hand along the way who I will never forget. My life has been impacted in many positive ways, more ways I would have ever imagined... I somehow will always feel indebted.
My only complaint is one bad apple in the bunch who has the potential to cause harm to patients and definitely needs to take a crash course on compassion... She really made me question things. Thanks to the "super stars" for picking up the slack and doing damage control before things got ugly...
A word to any ex-smokers considering surgery, be nicotine free at least 6 months to a year in advance and reschedule if you need to. All surgeries come with risk, add smoking to the mix and these risks can become very real. Any active smokers looking to quit last minute like I did, forget about surgery altogether. I experienced some self inflicted complications caused by long term smoking and have a couple large ugly scars to show for it. I quit 1 1/2 months in advance with a puff here and there and it just wasn't good enough. Tissue death is not fun and no words can describe nerve death, so please do your research and be sure to talk to your surgeon about your smoking history if you have concerns. Luckily my scars can and will be fixed, could have been worse, much much worse.

Thanks for your review!!! I have chose Dr. Green for a Mommy Makeover scheduled in January. I was a long time, 28 year smoker as well. I quit cold turkey 8 months ago knowing I had to be nicotine free to get this surgery. I am so glad now that I didn't slip around or wait till the last minute. Thanks again you look great! I'm happy for you!!!!

You did the smart thing and quit well before hand. If I could do things different, I would have quit many years ago. It stays in your system a long time, more than what most surgeons even require. Good for you though for doing it! You must be anxious. Dr. Green is an amazing surgeon. Good luck and keep me posted.

Thank you for sharing and what a difference! How far around does your scar go? Are you happy with the location of your incision scar?

The scar wraps over my hips about 6" kindof on but cheek. Wearing high panties and so scar is fully exposed. Hard to see I know but will try to post better photo showing scar. Yes I am happy with placement and totally symmetrical... Very clean scar...
