Before Selfie

In response to a request for a "before" photo I am posting a selfie I took of myself about 5 months before I had my surgery in March, 2015. I really notice my "turkey neck" lines that are now gone.

Wow! What a difference. I love your neck.

Six month update

I am updating my review to comment on how my surgery has not only improved my looks ( my sister-in-law stated without hesitation that I now look 50 instead of my actual 65) but transformed my life. I have a confidence and feeling of empowerment that rocket boosted me out of my recent widowhood fog. I just returned from a movie like trip to Paris (our favorite vacation destination) where I experienced a sense of joie de vivre on my first solo European trip that surprised me. Thank you Dr. Sykes and your amazing team at U.C. Davis for setting me free!

You certainly do not look at all in the 55-65 age range, you look great. What procedure did you have done and what are you feeling like physically now ?? Do you feel like you are back to normal ? Has the numbness gone away ?
Thank you so much for posting

I had a facelift with endoscopic brow lift, bilateral upper and lower blepharoplasties, and fat augmentation. I am feeling wonderful now and numbness is gone except for a very tiny amount around the ears. Not enough to bother me and that should be gone in just a few more months. I actually feel physically like I did in my forties. However, I do about 30 minutes of stretching, flexing, and range of motion exercises every morning and include daily brisk 2-3 mile walks.
Sorry for your loss.

The results are wonderful. Your skin looks flawless. What is your skin care routine?
Thanks for the comment. I have been using the skin care line recommended by Dr. Sykes' Cosmetologist and aesthetician, Jill Haynes. I use Oxygenetix Moisturizer whenever I feel that tight and dry feeling. For my standard daily routine I use Lifeline Stem Cell Skin Care. There are 4 products in this remarkable and new (to me) skin care line that I use: Defensive Day Complex, Neck Firming Complex, Eye Firming Complex, and Recovery Night Moisture Serum. I also use Suntegrity tinted 5 in 1 Natural Moisturizing Face Sunscreen. It is the only facial sunscreen that goes on like a moisturizer but protects with a 20% Zinc Oxide active ingredient. It is non greasy and makes a wonderful base for your finishing powder. I also have continued with skin care treatments to stimulate collagen production. Instead of the yearly Fraxel Laser treatments that I have had for about 8 years before my facelift procedures, I had Jill give me a Micro-Needling treatment 3 months post op. I also restarted my Botox injections at this time. It is also VERY IMPORTANT to always wear a hat when going out in the sun and protect the eyes with a good pair of sunglasses. UV damage can undo all the excellent work of the surgeon and your aesthetician! In addition, I take (orally) Purity Products H.A. (Hyaluronic Acid) Joint Formula daily. Diet is also part of taking care of your skin which is, of course, your body's largest organ. Drink lots of water and include all those good veggies and fruits that you read about. Lots of color in that produce helps : red, yellow, orange, blue.
so great to hear this. Sounds like liberation from the post menopausal doldrums. Here's hoping that I have the same experience.
I'm sure you will! Remember to keep positive and always endeavor to say something kind and positive to everyone you meet during your day. I truly believe that it has the effect of bouncing off that person and zinging you with jolts of good healing energy. That may sound corny but ever since I started practicing that I always manage to have a good day no matter what challenges I may face.
beautiful! so true!
