Back in 2010 I began to become unhappy with my sagging neck. Wrinkles I expected with age, the sag, I did not. I got a consultation with Dr. Scott Green at that time, but decided to go with my girlfriends to Europe instead. Fast forward to 2014, and my neck was beginning to have the full on "turkey neck" look. Dr. Green saw me again, and during the consultation I decided to go for it and get a brow lift as well as fat transfer under my eyes and around the frown lines. Might as well take care of all of it, right? Anyways I will say that it was much more surgery than I thought it would be and anyone contemplating procedures needs to be aware of how tough recovery can be (at least it was for me). But today I got my staples out and they did some makeup on my bruises and I'm very happy so far.

You look great. I'm planning on having these same procedures in June. Any tips or precautions you would like to share?

Thanks and I'm glad you asked! I wish I had been better prepared. I didn't find this website until post op, and didn't do a lot of research ahead of time because I didn't want to talk myself out of it. Looking back, I think I would have tried botox first, before opting for the brow lift. It looks great don't get me wrong, but with the face lift too, it was a lot of surgery, to me, and the top of my scalp is still numb at almost 3 weeks post op and may be for a long time to come. So I would have tried that first. Be prepared to possibly need more than 2 weeks it's been rough for me to go back to work, and my face is still pretty swollen so it's obvious I had something done. I also lost A LOT of hair which I was not anticipating. It's all perfectly normal and it will grow back but it was A LOT. I will post some updated pics I haven't updated my review lately. I also wasn't aware I couldn't color my hair for awhile so wish I had done it right before surgery. I wish I had known I should stay away from salt I ate nothing but soup the first four days and swelling was bad. Everyone talks about the incisions just behind the ear but I wish I had been prepared for incisions going up into the sides of my head and also into the back of my head. Between that and the brow lift I had staples and stitches everywhere. These all get better, they do, but I wish I had been better prepared so hopefully this helps you!

I wanted to do facial fat grafting and the endoscopic brow lift. I've tried Botox and other filler for my undereyes, but it's not very long lasting.
February 5, 2015
So far the fat grafting seems just fine. My cheeks have been rock hard but that has been from swelling and over the last couple of days they have started to soften and I think it looks good. I had it under my eyes and on the marionette lines. I say go for it! I just think for me I should have tried the less invasive procedure first because I don't care for the fact that the top of my scalp is totally numb. It takes some getting used to.

Day 12 - Assymetrical fears

sundragon36
I'm now at Day 12. Tried the makeup myself this time. I'm not too good at the concealer but that's why I'm practicing. I'm getting a bit concerned about the differences which I think are pretty obvious between my left and right cheekbones. I'm hoping that this is just that I'm more swollen on one side than the other, but concerned that It's just pulled too tight on one side. Anyone have similar experiences?

I would try and wait before you get too worried!! Yes, I see the asymetry, but that is so normal! You are still very early in your healing process. I have asymetry, too and I have watched it kinda go back and forth. The swelling and the healing move along at their own pace. You are going to be beautiful - I can see it already.

You are still really early days and could be having asymmetrical swelling for sure. I think you look beautiful overall! Do you know how long your surgery lasted?

January 29, 2015
Thanks Angie I'm guessing around six hours. I went in right at 7am and they took me in right away and I went home around 4pm assuming some of that time was in recovery. I'm trying to be positive overall I think it looks amazing I just was not prepared to go back to work looking fake. The swelling is getting better just very slowly.

To soon my dear --- I think as time goes on we think - my god -- how fast we wanted to be healed in two weeks and out the door. It's just not going to happen - for the majority of us --- it's probably one side still more swollen than the other side --- might be the way you sleep --- even if propped up - you may lay your head more to one side. Again --- way to soon -- hang in there ---- I know it's tough - crap I didn't leave the house for 3 weeks
January 30, 2015
Yes I think you are right and thank you for your interest and support!
January 30, 2015
I have to agree with other comments regarding it is too soon to worry. Of course, if you have general fears please contact your PS that is what he is there for. If you have read other reviews you will see that usually one side is more swollen than the other. One day it may be the left and two days later it has moved to the right or down the neck. We all want instant healing but unfortunately that doesn't happen. Follow your PS instructions, relax, have a good outlook and you'll be fine. Patience will win out in the end. Continued good luck in your recovery.

Back to Work!

sundragon36
Hi it's been awhile so here are some updated pics. Looking back on this experience there are several things I didn't expect so I thought I would share them for others. These are just my opinions based on my experiences so maybe not everyone will or has experienced these but here they are. I did not expect to lose so much hair. I should state that I have always had a lot of hair, everyone remarks upon it, so don't be too freaked out by the amount in the pics, but seriously, it was a lot of hair and it just kept coming out every time I washed it. Last night was the first night it was a more normal amount and my wonderful Dr. Green says it's normal and will grow back. But I think you should know you will lose some because it's attached to skin they are going to remove, but also I lost a lot I think just from the shock. Let's see, what else? Oh, beware the pain pills. I never understood all the fuss about constipation until it happened to me and it was desperate times let me tell you. I had to run to the drug store when I wasn't prepared to go anywhere for some emergency medication. Stay away from salt! Did you know soup is loaded with sodium? Yep, bad news there. Swelling has been a problem and it's very uncomfortable. Could care less about the bruises, they go away pretty quick and makeup covers most of it. Believe me it's the swelling that's going to get to you. Sorry I have not been blogging about this regularly because I'm sure there's more I'm already forgetting but these were the main things I have to share.

Thank you so much for sharing. I still think your results look great. I don't notice much swelling. Once your bruises are completely gone, you won't need to wear anymore make-up!

You are looking great

You are looking great, once the swelling goes away you will love what you see - beatiful woman with lovely profile. The amount of hair loss is a bit frightening especially if someone (me) has little to start with. Soup and anything canned has soooo much sodium even in the "less sodium" types. It's always best to make your own (if you can) or broth has major amounts of sodium. I've been watching salt intake and it is amazing the amount of sodium in processed foods, I often wonder how they manage to get any food in the box/can with so much salt. Salt/sodium hides everywhere so we all must be careful when stocking up for post-op. Something I've noticed is that sometimes the less popular brands have less fat and sodium then name brands and "organic/natural" type of foods. Ensure can also have a lot of sodium-read the labels. Back to post op results, it seems that most swelling moves from one place to another, up or down but eventually goes away totally. Congratulations in a fantastic recovery - now when you pass a mirror or see your reflection in a window you can think "you go girl" LOL

Thank you so much! I hope you are equally happy with your results!

That is a lot of hair, mine is fine too but luckily nothing lost so far. Like imaging boomer I have been utterly shocked by the sodium in some products, I don't normally look at that part of labels. You are looking wonderful, chin and jaw are just beautiful
February 5, 2015
Thank you yes thanks to all the positive support on this website and time I'm feeling more and more confident every day. For all, once I figured out how much sodium I had unintentionally been consuming, I switched to mainly smoothies that I make at home or donned dark glasses and went to jamba juice. they're so good for you anyway and you can't do much chewing when you're just post op. Oh and oatmeal had been my friend too!

I think you look just amazing!! awesome transformation!! your PS did a great job! when did the hair loss start? I haven't had any but I am curious if i will start.. I have also stayed away from salt which has really helped with the swelling. Enjoy your younger and beautiful face , xoxox. maria
February 7, 2015
Thanks Maria! I noticed it right away as soon as I was able to wash it, so about four days post op. Weird but luckily I have lots

I had a face lift a couple years back and my hair did not grow back. The area where men start pattern baldness looks just like that and the temple areas r definitely thinner. I used to have lots of hair and with age it got finer and now thinner in surgery areas. Good luck, I hope it was just my body reaction.
February 8, 2015
Thank you for responding. Have you tried any remedies to regrow in those areas? I see commercials all the time now for something called keranique - wonder if it works.

I have also seen that ad for keranique. I wondered if it would work and have considered ordering it.
