I'm a 31 year old and had always toyed with the idea of tattoos my whole, adolescent life, so after a trip to Hawaii I took the plunge and got a tattoo in my hone country, Australia. My first tattoo was of a pineapple that had the word Aloha written underneath. Spurred by the rush of the 1st one, I booked in for another about 3 weeks later, this time of a laurel wreath with a deer in the middle. It was really cute on print and the off the initial reference I took it off. Speaking with the tattoo artist, he insisted on a large version of the tattoo, even though the actual tattoo was maybe the size of a 10 cent coin. I thought about it and came to the conclusion that the tattoo artist knew what he was doing. Btw, quick side note, I don't blame the tattoo artist at all. I blame myself for not thinking it through and standing my ground.
Anyway, I sat in the chair for 30 mins and afterwards I immediately regretted it and felt a knot form in my stomach. It was just too big. The lines were thicker in some places and made it look wonky. I plastered a grin on my face, paid and said thanks, made my way to the station and silently panicked on the way home. I researched some tattoo places as soon as I got home and possibly for the next 5 months. Thankfully I found a laser clinic in Rozelle where they were informative and knowledgeable about laser removal. They also didn't appear to be about the hard sell either especially when I had told them that I needed more time to think about it some more.
My first session was 5th September. I remember this because I got a ticket for running a red light camera on this day! The tattoo removalist put me at ease with how much he knew about skin and the removal process. Sitting in the chair was pretty nerve racking but he has done a coubt down before he started laser. There was also a cold blaster that cooled the skin as the laser went along. I'm not actually sure that's what it was called. The whole process took about 5 minutes, it was that quick. Afterwards, the tattoo artist bandaged my arm up with some cooling cream on it.
The healing process took maybe about 3 weeks in total. The first couple of days is burning and blistering. I think in the first week the blister had popped on its own. Freaking out, I contacted the tattoo removalists via sms and she had promptly responded and put me at ease. The itching came the next and the peeling started in the 3rd week. The itching period was pretty intense btw.
My second appointment was recently, 17th October. 4 days in and the blistering is pretty crazy. The 2nd session hurt more than the first session. It felt like someone was using a soldering iron on my skin. Luckily it only took about 5 minutes again!
Right now, the deer of my tattoo is pretty blistered. It looks more like a balloon animal.
I'm pretty hopeful that it will be completely removed by the quoted 10 sessions.
*Note, I've purposely removed the names of any establishments I've visited in case I get in trouble.

Welcome to the community, I wanted to wish you well on your removal. Do you know what laser you are being treated with? Is the person removing your tattoo also a tattoo artist, as you mention "Afterwards, the tattoo artist bandaged my arm up with some cooling cream on it."
I don't know, I think it's a Q- something laser, I'll have to find out and also no, I meant tattoo removalist! I'll edit. Thanks :-)
