Genetically my family are heavy on the lower part of face and neck. I always knew l would do this operation and realized if l didn't do it by the time l was 60, l probably never would. Jfyi I'm 55.

I started researching surgeons and Amir's name came up a few times and honestly l couldn't find one single bad review about him or his work and l read a couple of hundred reviews on him alone. After a Skype consultation, l went ahead and booked almost right away, because he explained everything to me, what to expect, recovery time, etc. He's confident about his work because he knows what he's doing. Experience is not something you get from reading a book! I felt satisfied l was in the right hands.

When the time arrived I was a little nervous, after all it was going to be done under local anesthetic. But it wasn't as bad as l expected. The needles to freeze the area weren't pleasant but bearable. I honestly didn't feel any real pain, except the bit of liposuction he did under my chin, which was a bit brutal but still not really painful because the area was totally numb, just a really weird sensation.

He and his nurse Sue talked to me throughout, lt was a very relaxed atmosphere, l even had a drink of water during the procedure.

Anyway to be honest l was really swollen straight afterwards, mainly because of the fluid they inject before they start work (about half a litre) the skin felt tight but again no real pain.

I was sore and it was uncomfortable to sleep the first two nights. I just kept popping the painkillers given to me by the clinic, by today (day 3 after op) l started to feel the pain was less. Bruising has come out more but swelling is slowly going down. Funniest thing was my earlobes swelling, feels very strange but again apparently it's normal. Incisions are healing nicely. Clinic keeps in touch and are there for any questions you may have. Felt nice to have their support afterwards.

I would not hesitate to recommend Amir and the team at Bella Vou. They genuinely care about their patients and it shows. Also even though I'm still bruised and swollen l can see that the result is going to be great. I'm one happy lady :-)

Hi forigner 61 I couldn't agree more, I had the concept and neck lift in April 2017 however I did not take Amir's advise about the lipo under my chin and regretted it as with a nice tight neck I noticed the fat more under my chin. So on the 19th October I had the lipo done and Amir tightened up the skin as well. Unfortunatley he had to make insisions around the back of the ear again to do this. However I have very little bruising from the lipo after 5 days . I also had my eyes done which are also healing fast. He really is an amazing surgeon. I hope you continue to be as happy as I am . I am 68 so please if anyine reads this do not let age put you off. Aparently Amir's oldest patient was a woman of 95. Hey Ho .

Getting better everyday

I read a comment on rs that said you hardly see any follow ups for this doctor. Here's one 8 days after op.

I have no real pain anymore. Just tightness and still some swelling and a couple of funny bumps under the skin, which l presume is fluid and stitches that will eventually dissolve. I'm not sure if I'm just one of the lucky ones or if it's the work of this wonderful Doctor, bit of both l think! Anyway, it's been easier than l thought it would, touch wood!!

Hi Forigner 61 I also had the concept face and neck lift with Amir in April. However I was recommended to have the lipo under my chin and I decided not to because of the bruising and downtime. I really regret it so Amir is going to do it in October. He will then have to tighten the skin so I have to go through more cuts at the bottom of my ear. I so wished I had taken his advise. I am now three month's and everything is healing well in fact apart from the numbing in front of my ears which is improving I forget I had anything done. I woud like a bit of information from you if possible on what to expect from having the lipo done as without it it was so easy. I am going on holiday 5 weeks after having it done so need to be sure all bruising has gone.I hope you will be as happy as I am with your result. It looks amazing so far.x

Hi Bronte123 I was wondering if your Dr advised to do the whole lift again or just the lipo with small cuts. I'm having the same issue and the dr said after 6 months we could repeat the lift not sure I want to go through that again. Want the area under the chin a little tighter not sure the best route.

Hi Ana 3210 No Amir just said he would include a tightening of the skin as after the lipo the skin will be a little slack in that area.. My understanding is that I will not need further treatment of the muscle. He said just a small incision round the bottom lobe to tighten the skin. Hope that helps .

Hi, I am glad you are no longer feeling any pain. Everything should be starting to settle down properly now and it will just continue to get better each week! In terms of follow up appointments, we usually schedule one for 1 week post op and sometimes another one at 6 weeks post op, however, this is not always necessary if you are healing well. The clinic is however only at the end of the phone and email if you should ever wish to come in for a review appointment I would be more than happy to see you.

Hi Amir and team, Well the way l have been recovering hopefully l won't need a follow up appointment, but thank you for being available by phone or email should l have any questions. Very nice that you thoroughly support your patients.

Hi bronte123, I did hope that l wouldn't need the lipo because l knew the bruising would be much worse. At the Skype consultation Amir told me that he would know when he saw me if l needed to do this. I decided to take his advice and on the day of the op he told me that l had a little roll of fat under my chin and if we just tightened the skin, it would in fact be more prominent. He's the expert, so I went with his suggestion. The injections were so good l really didn't feel much, just the way this suction rod goes in/out seems quite brutal, l was glad when it was over even though It only took about 5 minutes. It was worth it. I honestly don't have such a problem with the bruising, the tightness and healing of the incisions was more uncomfortable, e.g. The light crusting around the wounds. My earlobes were like 2 grapes and the swelling was really uncomfortable there, but every day better. My son was so shocked when he saw me, after 6 days, l think that was the only time l thought, what have l done. It was the swelling that freaked him out. I explained to him that l was unhappy with so much loose skin around my neck. He said "so". and l don't want you to do things like that!! Now the swelling has gone down even more he's ok with it. 5 weeks will be more than enough time for the bruising to go down before your holiday. I went directly to meet my hubby and son on holiday. I stayed out of the sun and water because l want this journey to stay problem free if possible. I will post another photo of where l had the lipo. The whole area under my chin was bruised and sore, but like l said not the worst for me. The bruised area seems to be smaller every day when l awake. And a concealer stick from boots worked wonders. I think your photos look great too, and l don't think you need it, but you have to do what makes you happy. So good luck for October :-)
