5 Weeks Post

I'm feeling pretty much normal now and loving it! I started getting back to real workouts this keep, keeping it low impact and light weights. By the end of the week I could even get into a plank position without pain, which definitely wasn't happening a couple weeks ago. I'm really glad I went over the muscle because I'm sure the recovery would have been much longer. I can't lie on my stomach or lean too much against things, but otherwise I'm not having any discomfort.

The crazy projecting nipples have calmed down a bit, and I'm really happy with the size. I think I could have been happy a bit smaller, and I'm glad I didn't go bigger, but these are just right. :) Ideally, I would like them to be a little higher and the areola reduction to have come out a little smaller, but I think both of those were somewhat limited by my existing anatomy. Updating with pictures of the tiny bikini top I bought last summer (in which I had no cleavage whatsoever) and the Frederick's of Hollywood corset which really did not work with my post-baby boobs. Both are looking much better now!

Next up, I need to do some shopping to find a real (non-sports) bra that fits. I've been living in cheap "no boundaries" bras from Walmart. Any recommendations for a great brand, style, and/or store?

13 Days Post-op

Had my 2 week check-up today. It was a long drive for not much of an appointment, but so far, everything looks good. They're still a bit swollen and I thought the left one was higher, but Dr said the right one is, and advised me to keep massaging the right but not the left. She said I could start working on removing the tape in the shower. I have been really looking forward to getting the tape off! The hardest part of getting dressed has been the killer nipples - they are sticking out so much that they show through everything, and the only full cup bra I have that somewhat fits (I pulled the underwire out) is a little tight and makes me itchy. I definitely advise getting a BA in the winter when you can hide it under layers! I'm not too sore except first thing in the morning, or if I try to do something that I shouldn't (lifting, pushing, putting weight on my upper body at all). I've been taking a daily walk and I'm okay with just a camisole for support. Looking forward to getting the tape off and seeing what my new areola looks like!

Dr. Bekanich is a mom herself, so I felt like she could understand my concerns. She was very nice and listened to my thoughts and feelings about the different options while still giving a medically sound recommendation. Her office staff were always courteous, friendly, and pleasant, from the time I first called until I was making follow-up appointments, and even when I had to bring the kids to appointments!
