I recently received Fractional Laser treatment with great results. My face looks more refreshed with the deeper wrinkles, large pores and hyperpigmentation greatly reduced! I have included before/during/after pictures; however, they really do not give justice to the large pores that were greatly reduced by the procedure. Though it took about a week to recover (considering peeling, being red, not being able to go outside in the sun, not being able to apply makeup, and slight sunburn pain), I am impressed with the results. I was further advised by my doctor that there will be continued improvement over the next several months. Background - I am 41 years old, non-smoker and wear sunscreen daily, however did not wear sunscreen as a teenager. I opted to have fractional treatements on my face and neck and will later return to have my decollete’done. (I previously had Ultherapy to tighten my lower jaw, chin and neck and had PRP (Vampire Facelift) to add volume). Procedure – A numbing solution was applied to my face when I first arrived and for approximately 45 minutes When Dr. Kelley performed the fractional laser treatment, her assistant held a tube, which blew cold air to assist with the feeling of heat from the laser. The doctor treated my face more aggressively than my neck. Afterwards, they placed cold towels on my face to help with the redness and feeling of sun burn. I would estimate the procedure took approximately 40 minutes, to include my neck. Afterwards and Care – My face was really red and felt really dry for the first day, as if I had spent the day at the beach. I continued to apply cold towels on my face with a splash of white vinegar and aquaphor. On the second day after the treatment, my face was really red and began to ooze in some spots. By the third day, my skin began to peel. For about 5 days after my procedure, I would gently wash my face several times a day and apply aquaphor to keep my face moist. I used Dermalogica Brand “pre-cleanse” as a cleanser to help gently remove any peeling skin and also began using the aftercare products I purchased from my doctor (about the third day). The key is to keep your face moist. I used the dehumidifier to put moisture in the air and also used a spray bottle and sprayed water in the air throughout the house. At night, I would really pack on the aquaphor and place a towel on my pillow and on either side of my face to help me sleep on my back. Also, the first few days, I slept with my head raised with two pillows to help reduce the swelling. When I took a shower, I could not put my face directly under the hot water, but the hot water created steam that helped my face. Sometimes, I would take a hot bath but put iced cold wet towels on my face. It was a really long week, but I am glad I took the step to get the procedure done. I purchased

Leigh1632 story seemed too way way to much like it was written by a practitioner however, all the info is very useful indeed, thank you Leigh, reading the other comments I am surprised to see that you were not informed about what to expect to see and feel after the procedure. Regardless, I give credit to all the info you are contributing because we rely so much on additional and personal results.

This is pretty much what I experienced with my procedure. I just had it done last Friday, Oct. 31, 2014. I had lots of bleeding the first day and was pretty sore. I am at work today, day three post procedure, wearing "laser makeup" that my dermatologist gave me and looking pretty good. I am dry, dry, dry, but I followed the directions to the letter. I peeling today and I have lots of gridmarks. I am nervous these will remain, but hopeful that this is just the way of the healing process. I slathered my serum (also from dr.) plus the heavy-duty face cream on today and topped off with SPF 46. I am indoors all day and then straight home to wash my face and apply more moisturizer. Mostly my skin was in excellent shape but i had melasma so I went ahead and did this treatment. I am really hoping it proves to be worth the risk. I appreciate you sharing your story.
