Finally took the plunge after turning 40 &...
WORTH IT$5,723
Finally took the plunge after turning 40 & wish I'd done this years ago! Main reason I didn't was the cost. I went private as once I'd made the decision I was going for it, it didn't want to wait. Also I didn't know if I'd qualify on the NHS. I was a 34F & after having a baby (went up to 38H when pregnant) I'd lost the small amount of perkiness my boobs had ever had. I've hated them from the moment they grew. I've always been known as Debbie big boobs, I was teased as school accused of stuffing my bra (as if!!!!) & in adult life they also got a lot of unwanted attention. Swim wear shopping was just depressing & I avoided dresses & blouses as nothing fitted. So I decided enough was enough & I took the plunge! I am absolutely delighted with the results so far. Pain hasn't been anywhere near what I expected. I was in more discomfort from the throat tube & my back ached a bit from trying the sleep propped up. I was able to wash my hair leaning over the bath 2 days after my op. My surgeon said no showers for first week. When I got my dressings off after 7 days he was very pleased with the results, I had very little bruising & only slight swelling. I now have micro pore tape over the incisions & have been told still not to shower for another week. Luckily I had no drains, surgeon is dead against them says they just create another avenue for infection which I totally agree with. I've given up trying to sleep propped up, my front zip sports bra is very supportive so now if I want to lie on my side slightly I just wedge another pillow under them. Getting a decent sleep is vital to recovery. I felt fine after the op when I got home but 3 days after it I was quite fuzzy in the head & a bit lift headed. Felt similar to a hangover without the headache. This cleared about lunchtime the following day & I can think clearly again. I was sick when I woke up from the anaesthetic so they pumped me full of anti sickness meds. I only took paracetamol for a day or 2 afterwards but really could have managed without it. If anyone is swaying about whether to have it done or not...go for it!!

Almost 3 weeks on
Delighted with how they are healing. I've had practically no bruising or any issues with the incisions. Boobs are still a bit tender & a little swollen, they're also still pretty numb in the area under the nipple but Doc says that's totally normal. Was advised 2 weeks post op that I could shower again but still to keep micro pore tape on to support the incisions. If it gets a bit grubby I can just change it myself. Looking forward to going bra shopping in a few weeks & getting out of sports bras, have treated myself to a few hours tonight in a soft cotton bra for a bit of relief lol. Amazed at how fine & neat the scars are. See my consultant in another 3 weeks.

More pics
Pics actually look worse that they are, I have rubbish camera skills. The skin is a bit bunched up as I'd not long got up & had taken tape & sports bra off

Great results. Do you know how many grams were removed from each breast?
