Last July I went for the first time to a plastic...
Last July I went for the first time to a plastic surgeon, actually asking for a minilift or something to take a few of my 36 years away. He said he usually recommends a facelift to ladies asking for botox must in my case he thought I ought to go for a less invasive approach. So there I was, entering the botox club. The procedure was rather simple just what seemed like an endless number of injections across my forehead and the sides of the eyes. After keeping ice on my skin for about 15 minutes after the pricks, I was ready to go. I was not allowed to bend, and had to sleep sitting for the first night ( so I hardly slept) . One of the pricks I think went too close to the bone because it created a little painful bump for weeks (actually if I push it I still feel it now after months). Anyway, on the whole it was an easy-going experience. One week after the botox I asked for some fillers around my nose/mouth. Again I had a little lump form that I had to massage (press down with a finger and rotate) away. But that is my skin- so highly intolerant I can't even use a face cream. The leftover of the filler they (the plastic surgeon and his assistant doctor) injected in my upper lip- was that painful! I could drink/eat with difficulty for a day or two. Final result though was really nice. I loved it ( till it lasted). Would I do it again? I loved it yet I'm not sure. Something made me feel it was not "natural". I feel a bit weary about the still unknown long term effects.
As I commented to a question "how to get rid of botox", I noticed a few months after I had it done, when I went for a sauna (ok...I do exagerate staying in 80-90C* for 10-15min at a time 3-4 times) , i think it ws the second or third time I went, where each injection prick had been,a little "bulge" formed, soon with a little crust I was too tempted to leave alone, and scratching it, a watery liquid came out, I then touched my lips and felt them "fall asleep", as if I had put a local anastetic cream on them. I think it can only have been the botox, although I am surprized it stayed "liquid" in my system for months. I didn't intend getting rid of my botox, but for those willing, it might be a technique.
