Two weeks post
I have to be honest. There have been days where I have wondered, if this has been worth it. I ended up with an infection. Fortunately, the ps called in a prescription and had me come in. I am a pretty active person. I have found it difficult to rest. I can tell you that I think that this is key to recovery and pain management. We had over 20 people for thanksgiving yesterday. We supplied the turkeys ( which were cooked by our local grocery store) and everyone else brought the rest of the food. My daughters were great at forcing me to sit down. This made a huge difference in my pain. I go back to work Monday, full time. I work from home, so I should be able to rest some during the day!
Too small?
I am now three days post. I was hoping to get my drains removed today. However, I am still having significant drainage. I last took a major pain pill about 9 last night. Since then I have had 2 extra strength Tylenol. I am more uncomfortable than in pain. I am concerned that they took too much????. My husband and daughters are saying that I am just not use to the smaller size. I go to dr on wed. I am anxious to see what they look like without any bandages/tape.
The day after!
I had my surgery yesterday. The ps said that it took longer to than expected, based on some large veins. I feel great this am. I was about every hour last night, due to having to potty. I guess it was the iv fluids. I have not changed the dressing - no idea how things look. They took almost 4 pounds. I feel like they are all gone. We shall see later today! Glad to be on the other side!!
