My initial consult was with Dr. Richard Betor.
My initial consult was with Dr. Richard Betor. I actually went in with hopes of getting a gum depigmentation performed. As I've had dark gums for as long as I could remember and always been secretly insucure about them. Not many dentist perform laser depigmentation to lighten gums and I was happy to find a dentist not far from my home that does it. I live in Michigan and Dr. Betor is located in Ohio about a 2hr 40min drive from me. The other dentists I researched were located in LA and New York.
During the counsultation Dr. Betor showed me his work, before and after pictures and I was blown away! But Dr. Betore made it clear to me that this gum depigmentation was NOT permanent and that the dark look could return to my gums as it had to do with the actual melanin in my blood, this devastated me. Here I am with the air being let outta my balloon when Dr. Betor asked "do you think you have small teeth"? I was kinda confused by the question and I answered "yes, I think they're small. He then told me he could fixed the length of my gums with a Gingivectomy/ Gum Lift. Dr. Betor explained to me what the procedure was and showed me pictures, although the pictures looked great and I had never even known this procedure was possible, I was still stuck on the depigmentation. Dr. Betor made a promise to me that if I go ahead with the depigmentation he would be available to me over the next 3yrs for touch ups. But he made it clear to me, that the gum lift would be much better and he knew I would really love the results, but he wanted me to do what I thought would be best for me.
I ended up stumbling upon this site and I read various people's reviews on their Gum Lift and I was amazed and decided to go forward with only the Gum Lift procedure. I made my appointment 2 weeks later.
Dr. Betor was unfortunately unavailable the day I wanted to get my produce done so I was told his son Dr. Michael Betor would perfom it. I was a little sad as I met with only Dr. Betor, but as soon as I was introduced to Dr. Michael I felt comfortable. He was as nice and welcoming as his father and after a bit of small talk we got down to business.
The total time of the surgery only took about 30minutes and was virtually painless. To start, I was injected with about 6 novocaine shots, the thought of this frightened me most (I've never had a cavity or needed any fillings or teeth removed. I've been blessed with a good set of teeth, thankfully!) But the shots only felt like a little pinch and took effect almost immediate. The procedure itself was great, it did have a slight smell like burnt popcorn though lol. During the procedure, Dr. Micheal stopped as he was amazed with what he saw and said "I don't normally show patients til I'm finished, but you have big beautiful teeth I want you to take a look now!" And when I was handed the mirror, I saw just that. My very own Big Beautiful teeth! I couldn't believe it or be happier! My life and confidence is forever changed!! Thank you!

I have always had a fascination with BIG teeth,...
I have always had a fascination with BIG teeth, like I loved them! I'd often give people complements on their teeth like "oh you have great teeth" vs saying you have a cute shoes, lol weird right. But myself , I have always had small teeth, and never knew I could achieve the look without costly veneers.
