My face is destroyed by ePrime device(Evolastin and Elevate-new names but same ePrime device be aware!!)-Rockville, MD

EPrime the same as micro needling

It seems that EPrime has a new name - micro needling. By description the procedures are the same. After EPrime i do not see any improvements as advertised. I still have scars after that procedure. I would never recommend that procedure.

Micro needling and EPrime are NOT THE SAME THING!! Micro needling is just that, tiny needles rolled over the skin. This EPrime uses radio frequency to heat up the skin. Vastly different treatments.

If that's not the same procedures - great! Thanks for your comments.

Micro needling is excellent for treating scars, even old ones. It softens and makes them blend in. It helps stimulate collagen, which should be anti-aging, but I haven't found that it works for tightening skin or reducing wrinkles. You can get pro treatments, which are with a machine, or do it by hand yourself at home with a Derma Roller. It's just a roller with tiny steel needles all around it. My skin care girl says it works for making pores smaller. You can you buy one on Amazon, that's where I get mine. Store it in alcohol, rinse with alcohol so you don't give yourself an infection. Read up about which size would be best for the condition that you want to treat before using.

I think you may be confusing micro holes which laser can cause to micro needling which is a handheld non-heat needle procedure which is nothing to do with lasers or IPL

I'm glad someone responded to this because I was thinking the same thing. I don't think that damage happened after micro needling. Needless to say, I am sorry that it did happen.

Oh, I see now, looks like it's a radiofrequency device?

Overall, I am so sorry for what you went through w/ this ePrime device. I cannot believe the pathetic response of the company rep. Who care about side effects being rare if you are then one getting the bad side effect? You need help w/ your complication, not some blather. I would be interested in knowing if the doc or the device maker offered you any REAL help - like referrals to specialists, and paying for your aftercare!

i don't think someone said that unless i missed it -- she was saying it could fix scars caused by that. Yes they are different although they do work through a similar idea, of causing minute damage to skin and harnessing the body's own healing powers. Although one practically microwaves and shrinks, while the other is more "mechanical" I believe.

I am sorry this happened to you. Have you found anything to help you?
May 9, 2015
Unfortunately it is extremely hard to treat scars. For me, peels are probably the most effective treatments as I have discoloration and redness around scars. Good make-up also helps a lot!
May 9, 2015
what make up do you use? I can't seem to find any primers or make up that looks good. I'm so self conscience with make up since it makes things look worse.

I use Chanel cover, but I don’t want to sound as I am advertising expensive brands. I heard that IT covers are good as well.

Thank you very much for information!!
May 3, 2015
yes dermapen. I was thinking I could buy one of those myself as they are quite simple to understand, but they won/t sell to us regular folks. I would try that though -- there is some good science behind it and keep us updated please.

What exactly is this device? Does it use radiofrequency? Does it use needles, like a dermaroller? Does it use broadband light? Laser? Plain old heat?
May 2, 2015
Thanks for reading my post! No help was offered :( The doc did not care at all, every time during my appointments she was rushing to another room or office. The device rep gave me creams which did not do much.
May 3, 2015
I guess this does tell us anytime you see a doc doing heavy marketing and advertising and saying they were voted best in Maryland (which I think she was, that's how I even knew about her and she does look beautiful for her age) to ignore, ignore, ignore! Sorry this happened to you. I still remember that ad. I was considering going to her. The thing is, ANYONE can say they were voted best in a state or place -- maybe it was their mom voting for them and giving them the award. I am such a gullible fool.
November 19, 2015
Yeah. The plastic surgeons office where the nurse ruined my face was also voted best in maryland. She was using a new machine that was not fully programmed.
November 21, 2015
Oh my.....please listen up everyone: when you see that a doctor or salon or whatever was voted "Best Whatever," it is meaningless. It could be that they appointed themselves with that label, or perhaps solicited votes from the coffeeshop next door, or had their extended family send in some official vote (but I doubt there was some kind of test given to determine that the doctor was absolutely, without reservation, the BEST. It reminds me of elementary school or something. I wish they would stop using this awful advertising method to promote businesses, but I doubt they will. If someone has to declare themselves the best (unless there WAS some official contest or measurement) that means they are desperately seeking their next victim.

This doctor should be sued. You'll never look the same again. How sad!! Report her to the BBB log a case against her! Your doctor should lose her right to preform these procedures again.

It's been almost 2 years (April 26, 2013 will be exactly 2 years). This ePrime (New name: Evolastin) procedure not worth the recovery time, pain and money. For about 2 years from ePrime procedure I am fighting with scarring and my face is shifting on left side permanently now. I had been treated by dermatologists and medical estheticians and spent a lot of time, effort and money to recover the damage. From my experience, I would never recommend this procedure to anybody. There are NONE benefits after it.

Im speechless of everything you have experienced... I honestly hope you find some doctor that can help repair the damage this doctor did to you and sue him and the manufacturer of the company that says their product works and does all of these things its suppose to do.Any good attorney can easily dismiss that your photos were not tampered with and the bills you have piled up in trying to correct his medical negligence in the procedure he did on you. Dont just go after the doctor go after the manufacturer too that makes the product.. Most attorneys will not ask you for money to represent you and will only take a case they know they can win..If you dont get paid for damages they dont get paid... Go for the best attorney that will go after the doctor and the manufacturer!..Continue to telling your story to any magazine that will listen and write your story about this get your money back and suffering you have endured dont settle until these people are stopped!!! DONT GIVE UP!!!Good luck to you and my prayers are with you! God Bless

Thank you for sharing your horrible experience! I'm so sorry this happened to you. One thing I want to comment on is that you don't appear to have needed it in the first place. I can't see any sagging or jowls. Your skin looked beautiful.
May 31, 2014
I am not a doctor but it looks like the 'face shifting to one side' is caused by bruxism (teeth grinding or jaw clenching in sleep). I have had it for years. When I smile my chin shifts more to one side. The muscles are out of harmony. Have you been to a dentist to have this assessed? I am going to get dysport injections into my jaw as it's getting SO bad. I do wear a splint (mouth guard) at night to prevent damage to the teeth. Massage and acupuncture have been helpful but lately it's very bad. I also have severe stress from chemical peel burn and also had radiofrequency (more stress) which has made my jaws even worse!! So please go to a dentist asap, let me know how you go, I will also let you know how the injections go.
May 8, 2017
How did your jaw injections go? Did u try a chiropractor? I gave similar issue w clenching & jaw tracking. Painful! Making my face change from the muscle strain & even affecting the muscles around my eyes

Hi, Please tell me if you found something that helped you. Thank you. Kelly

Unfortunately I can't recommend anything :( I am still trying to get rid of the scars after ePrime but no good progress yet.

mosellv_md
UK has been advertizing Elevate by ePrime which is the same procedure as I had performed on my face and still recovering the damage.
The advertisement promises “Natural looking results” as
• Smoother, tighter skin with less sagging – NO as I don’t see ANY of this
• Redefined contours along the jaw line and under the chin– NO as I have ‘collagen bumps’ under the chin
• Softening of wrinkles and fine lines– NO as I have to have fillers to fix damage after ePrime
• Reduction of excess skin under the chin– NO as I don’t see it
Please be aware as manufacturing company investing money in ePrime skin rejuvenation procedure advertisements and promises the results but the are none. I had a really bad experience and just want to warn people! Please be aware, don’t waste your money on this procedure!!

Regarding the doctor, I believe she does not care about her patients at all, it least I would expect a follow up from her on this damage, but she has never contacted me.

I'm very shocked by your experience! I have a blog for women in their 50's and I was researching about the EPrime to introduce this procedure to women my age. What a flop!
I'm a little afraid of procedures in general, because I also have a very sensitive skin and unfortunatelly this can happen. What was the company behavior regarding your situation?
July 10, 2012
I have contacted the Product Manager who was responsible for ePRIME, but nothing has been done. It seems that the company does not care at all. They keep upgrading and re-naming the device, but the procedure is the same. The company advertises a new device and procedure. Not a lot of people doing their research before deciding on the procedures as most of the procedures are sold at the doctors’ offices. Once the patient in the office and the doctor has already invested in the machine, the procedure needs to be sold. The doctor shows great before and after pictures and bang-deal. I would like to warn everybody about the procedure with radiofrequency micro-needles device. Any procedure (does not matter how it will be called) with this device is not worth to spend your money on. It is not simple procedure as advertized. More than one year I have been recovering after this procedure. I have scars, some kind of accumulations as big seeds under my skin, my face is shifting on left side. I wish I would never had this procedure done! Regrets!! Every moment I look into the mirror, I want to cry.
July 10, 2012
I'm so sorry for your bad experience. But so far you are doing a great job by advertising the bad aspects of these procedure. I hope you will be fine in the end of this awfull story! The best wishes for you!!!!!!
July 10, 2012
This company offered me $250.00 , something to the effect of "in the spirit of compromise" meaning sign this that you will never seek anything from us when the class action suit hits.......Like mosellv_md says, they are selling this and it is causing damage. I have scars just like her. I am not signing anything so ridiculous, I work for a plastic surgeon and I will continue to warn people about this when they ask me about it because it was on "The Doctors".....
July 10, 2012
I'm not sure if this will help you feel better but, go to your county/parish court house and file a small claims suit against the company for the max amount allowed for small claims court in your state (it's $3000 where I live). It will cost you under $100 to file suit and I guarantee you will get a lot more than what they offered you. They will most likely even settle out of court.....it would cost them at least $5000 to defend themselves. Go for it girl!!!
July 11, 2012
Thanks but this isn't small claims material....I'm working on a class action suit for everyone injured.
July 11, 2012
Well, that's nice of you but with a class action suit the attorneys get all the money....you'll be lucky if you end up with the $250 they offered you in the first place. Attorneys LOVE class action lawsuits!!!
July 11, 2012
I totally understand that, I'm not talking about money, I'm talking about publicity to take a bad device off of the market. This is not a laser, I've read all of these comments on here for months, this is a bad device that has flaws, obviously we are all looking for good devices that do what they say what they will do. Radiofrequency is really a good thing for tightening skin and melting fat, but their product is flawed with the microneedles that wear down during a treatment and deliver the "heat" at different levels than they say...the company, Syneron, is only trying to sell their product, not caring about what it can do to people.
