I was terrified to go through with this! I found out last fall/winter that I had a crack in tooth #9 that went all the way up to the root. I got a second opinion and they were certain that the tooth was going to have to come out. I have always had very nice teeth and have always taken very good care of them. This was DEVASTATING TO ME. I called around and got several estimates, ranging from $4000 total to $8000. I decided to go with Clear Choice because they are a one stop shop and could do the immediate load without me having to go from one building to another and walking around toothless for even a few minutes.
The first consultation was done with a "salesperson" who was very nice and told me about the procedure. I decided on the spot to go with them and left a sizable deposit. When I got back home, I had some reservations and left an email for the "salesperson". She never got back to me. I sent another email and left my phone number...again, no response. Eventually, she responded telling me she was busy but she never addressed my questions and concerns. So I ended up canceling my first appointment. I was already NERVOUS and scared and her not responding made me feel like they were a scam and didn't really care about me. Since they had my money, I was forced to go back and try to work this out.
I met with the prosthodontist Dr. Wilson and she assured me that she loves what she does and she is good at what she does. She's an attractive woman around my age and I felt that she was very sincere.
She showed me the temporary crown that they were making and I felt a lot better. It looked really good.
I ended up going in a few weeks later. I was terrified. The procedure was extremely painful. I had local anesthetic and nitrous oxide. All it really did was take the edge off. It was truly brutal. But I confess that I have a very LOW tolerance for pain. They removed my natural tooth and thankfully, I had enough bone to have the immediate load and temporary crown right then and there. That process was horrifically painful as well. When they finally put the temporary crown in, even amidst the blood and swelling it looked really good. It's made of acrylic and is only supposed to be in for approximately 6 months.
I have to say that I am very pleased. It looks amazing. Once the implant is in you cannot really tell the difference between that and your natural teeth. The only thing is that it's just there FOR SHOW. it's non-functioning so you cannot bite into apples or really anything for that matter.
It's now been about 3 months and honestly, nobody, NOBODY can tell that this is NOT my natural tooth! I only hope the permanent crown looks this good!
Dr. Wilson is amazing. She really does care and is not only competent but she really very good at what she does. My real tooth had dropped, I developed a gap and it looked sort of bad. My crown actually matches perfectly and looks BETTER.
She was honest in warning me that it could take several tries to get the permanent crown to match as perfectly because of the material it's made out of but I do believe she will get it right. She considers her patients walking billboards for HER work so it will be right.
So far so good!

Thank you for sharing your honest review, and your photo. Your smile looks great! How did your tooth get cracked?
Sorry for the delay! My tooth got cracked years ago and I needed a root canal. That made it even worse and biting and chewing over the years made it worse.
