In 2015, I had a large cyst removed from my ovary. I begged the surgeon to cut horizontally, but she insisted on a vertical incision to ensure the cyst could be removed in one piece. I was left with a long, dark, wide scar that resembles an emergency c-section scar. I began researching microneedling; however, most of the reviews I found were for small acne scars and wrinkles that looked nothing like my large surgical scar. I'm sharing my experience to help anyone with a similar scar who is considering this procedure.

I have scars on my legs from surgeries. They are old so the discoloration wasn't too bad. However, I was needling for broken blood vessels, and the scars started becoming dramatically reduced. Look at directions on owndoc.com

I'll look into that. I also have broken blood vessels on my legs and had no idea microneedling helps with those. Thanks!

I had to really get rough with them. But it healed. Single needling helps to. The needles are much thinner than regular needles. Just try a small test area.

First Treatment

I had my first treatment in Jan 2017. After the skin flaked off, I was very pleased with the results.

Second Treatment

After rescheduling twice, I finally got around to my second microneedling session in the beginning of April. The skin is still peeling, but I can already tell a difference.

Thanks! The tummy is definitely not a fun area to have an incision.

I can't imagine going through that painful recovery multiple times or while caring for a baby. You're a strong lady! I hope my posts are helpful.
