After many years and several consultations I...

After many years and several consultations I decided to use Dr. Branman for my mastopexy with saline implant. I had always been nervous about having cosmetic surgery due to the horror stories of how and when it goes wrong. I finally decided the benefit would be worth it. I chose Dr. Branman based on reviews and being chosen so many years as the best md. (it certainly wasn't based on his poker face: hence the plastic smile). He seems to have a terrible capacity for listening. Although a terrible bedside manner doesn't necessarily mean a bad doctor.

I wished I had listened to my instincts. I had a friend who informed me only afterwards that she knew within a few minutes that he wasn't for her based on his manners. I had wanted larger implants but he said it wasn't possible due to my wide sternum. That's fine, after all he is the professional and since I was terrified of the consequences of pushing him into something he felt uncomfortable with; I didn't take the chance. He chose the size according to my measurements, the details as to placement and the best type of implant for me. I put my trust in his hands. Not to mention $8706.90!! The breasts never settled right, especially the left breasts. After every consultation he treated my concerns as of little or no concern to him. he said they would fall into the pocket-NOPE. 3 years post-op and they never did. Not to mention they tend to stay under my armpits which create a horrible farting noise! I know it sounds ridiculous... REALLY it sounds ridiculous. At my year post-op I had discussed this with him, I decided to get tough and let him know how I was feeling overall. I pointed out the pocket was still hanging there, my breasts tended to opt for going under my arm pit, and I mentioned the farting noises they made with any movement. He literally rolled his eyes about it, and acted as if he had never heard of such a thing. It was already pretty embarrassing to try and explain. I asked him to just take them out and he said that would make them look worse. He finally said he could stitch the sides which would make my nipples point off a bit. He wasn't happy at this point...join the club Dr. Branman. His staff directed me into the accounting department who started drawing up a new quote!! Are you kidding me?? We left there very upset, unfulfilled with disappointed hopes...again. He doesn't seem to care. When I asked for my medical records they refused to provide them. Also, an interesting fact to point out... If he has done so many amazing surgeries... where are all the before and after photos?? Like for instance, mine?! Maybe he wasn't too proud of his work. I can only speculate that is the reason behind his obvious limited proof. I have had two consultations with Dr. Branman and both times a year or so apart he took before photos. I also recall the after photos and signing the consent to release them.

Anyways, I would suggest that you be very careful when reading the reviews to look for those in regards to a specific surgery. Don't just go by the limited before and after pics of other surgeries he has performed. Also, trust your instincts.

I would describe the relationship between myself and Dr. Branman as being one-sided. His side. He didn't seem to listen to my concerns or take into consideration my feelings or what I wanted or needed.
