1 year 9 months

1 year 9 months later and my nose is still as hard as a rock.. anyone else have this issue? It’s really not a bother though but I’m just curious to why. I was told it takes about a year but it’s definitely been over a year. Almost 2. On the bright side, my side profile looks like a million bucks.

***DAY OF SURGERY!!!!!****

(Not sure why this deleted from my review)
My day started off bright and early (wasn't even bright out). I had to be at the hospital by 5:30am and the surgery was scheduled for 7:30am. I arrived at the hospital and signed in. A couple minutes later I was taken to a pre-op room where they took my vitals and got me ready for surgery. I think the hardest part for me definitely had to have been the IV. Dr. Zuliani came in to see me before the surgery and he drew on my nose to prep it. I also met the anesthesiologist while I waited. Those two hours flew by and before I knew it they took me into the operating room to start the surgery! I still remember looking around the room and seeing my doctor sitting on the stool and about 5 others standing around getting things ready and waiting on me... that room was pretty cold! my pictures were hung up on the wall too so I felt like I was the star of the show that morning! They laid me down on the bed and put the oxygen mask on my face right away. I still remember telling the anesthesiologist to put the medicine slowly through my IV because I was so scared of getting knocked out too quickly... MAN WAS IT QUICK. I kid you not, it was not even a second. before I knew it I woke up and it was done! It felt like two seconds. I woke up confused for a second thinking where am I and what was going on. They woke me up in the operating room saying my name and telling me how I did a good job and how I handled the anesthesia very well! My response was "that's it? Thank you, thank you guys so much!" I think I thanked them about 500 times. Not only that but I also remember hearing Dr. Zulianis laugh and seeing him in a very blurry sight.
Anyways.. after that was over, they took me into the recovery room and I waited there for about another hour. I remember my throat being SOOOO dry!!!!!! I felt like I was gonna stop breathing and just die since that was my only way to breathe.. I couldn't have water because of the anesthesia, the only thing I could have were ice chips. I think I frustrated the nurse working there that day because I was so impatient about her giving me more ice but hey I was thirsty. Lol. Sorry nurse. I just felt like spongebob without his water.
After I was fully awake, the nurse made me change into my clothes and took me to the family room to get discharged. I got asked a couple questions and I signed some papers and that was it! I left the hospital around noon and went straight to my room that had pretty red roses!
The pain medicine wasn't really used much... what I really needed was sleep medicine! I could not sleep at all from the discomfort.
Dr. Zuliani called me a couple days into my surgery checking to see how I was doing.
First day- Wasn't bad at all felt like my normal self. Looked like my normal self, except I had a cast on my nose.
Second day- Got a little swollen and started to feel uncomfortable
Third day- I looked like a chipmunk and I could not feel my face!
Fourth day- this day had to have been the worst! My swelling was horrible. Black eyes. Swollen around my cheeks. Inside of my mouth right below my nose was all bruised (scared me)
Fifth & sixth day - swelling started to go down. I looked somewhat normal, just discolored.
Seventh day - cast & splints came off, and my tears came down my face! I thought I looked so ugly because my nose was so swollen. I felt like an avatar character. Dr. Zuliani tried his best to tell me it's just the swelling don't worry you're gonna look fine. Did I stop crying? Nope. Hahah
Ps. I did a horrible job cleaning the inside of my nose and Dr. Zuliani was not afraid to tell me that. I guess I was just scared to mess with it by cleaning it. Lol. Do not be afraid to clean your nose people!!! Better to do it while the blood is still fresh then have the Dr. do it while it's dry and harder to clean! (Believe me)
The stitches hurt coming out and the splints were even worse because they were very uncomfortable. Those are definitely two seconds of my life I never wanna experience EVER again.
& btw I did have a mole behind my ear for as long as I can remember that I told Dr. Zuliani about and he did remove it during the surgery. Which I can not thank him enough because I've avoided getting it removed for the longest time.
Once again, Thank you so much for everything Dr. Zuliani!
