When I mentioned the dr did not return my call last weekend, I was referring to the 'dr on call,' which was NOT my doctor. I want to be clear that MY dr was not ignoring my calls. I did, however, mention to Dr. Chen that it took two calls to get the 'dr on call' to call me back. He apologized but, of course, it was not Dr. Chen's fault.

One full week out and feeling better

Okay, my dr did call me to check in soon after I wrote my initial post so I felt much better about that. I'm walking much more upright. Still having trouble sleeping. I'll sleep for 4 hrs, then awake for 1-2, then maybe get 1-2 more hours. Otherwise, I'm resting.

I've been pleasantly surprised at the fact there is no constant pain. Dr says it is due to the Exparel - so glad I paid extra for it. Yes, I was uncomfortable at times but not really much now. My sides and flanks are sore from lipo. My face is still a tiny bit bruised but will all resolve before I return to work.

Had my first post op appointment two days ago. That's the first time I really looked at the dr's handiwork. I believe I am going to be extremely pleased once I am fully recovered!

Seems as if the procedures went well but I cannot say for certain yet that it was worth it. However, I imagine it will be worth it once I can see the end results.

Nurse took extra nausea precautions with me but it did not help. I was sick the rest of the day and night, couldn't keep anything down. That was the worst! Plus I noticed in post op that the thumb and forefinger on my left hand felt as if they were 'asleep.' The anesthesiologist and nurses did not seem concerned.

On Saturday (1 day post), no more nausea and fingers were no longer numb. Can keep down food. Can get around the house by myself but back hurts due to being hunched over. My husband has been wonderful and is taking great care of me. I'm really surprised I have not received a 'check in' call from the doc. When I had lipo many years ago by another doc, they called me the next day just to make sure I was doing well and to answer any questions I had.

I have a slight fever but have started taking the Oxycodone with Acetaminophen they prescribed which helps with the fever. The highest it got was 100.7. Instructions were to call the office if I had a fever of 101 or more so I did not call them in regards to the fever. The oxycodone is not doing much to help me sleep as I'm only able to sleep in 1-2 hour segments for some reason. Honestly, there really is no constant pain as I expected. Just stiffness and pulling sensations when I move certain ways which is to be expected. I did pay $500 for Exparel so maybe that is still assisting with the pain.

I have in two drains and only one is draining. I called the dr about that and he said it is okay. Also told him one of the lipo sites was draining/leaking a ton (with some blood) but the dr on call did not seem concerned. Had to call him twice to actually get a call back.

My face is a little bruised from the fat grafting to my cheeks (due to volume loss) and microneedling and so are my flanks and sides (bra area) where he lipoed - sore, too. That is no big deal since I had already planned to do nothing. Just walking to my mailbox wore me out so I'm resting and living in a recliner now which is fine.

I have a follow up appt on the 23rd and will purchase another garment. Wish I would've ordered two initially. It's nice to be able to wear one garment while the other one is washed.
